MHarryE, nice to see another person with wheel weights, :cool: not many of us have them. May I ask if you have considered filling the tires also? With filled tires and wheel weights I doubt that you would have many problems with the rear end getting light very often.:thumbsup: You mentioned that you have 2 rear remotes, do you have other implements that you will need those for, or are you getting top and tilt cylinders? :confused:

I'm planning on at least a hydraulic top link, but also I intend to try my nephews 4 row corn planter which takes up 1 remote. Last year, having no remotes, I had to borrow planter and tractor which I paid for by using my mini-excavator to put in culverts but that was worth more than the tractor and planter so he threw in a side of beef but that was worth more so back with the mini-excavator to dig fence post holes in rocky soil but -- well, you get the idea, endless confusion. He hadn't used the planter in 4 years but needs the tractor. If I can run the planter I can keep it. Now I have the hydraulics to give me a fighting chance.

Looks like the list price was $100 per weight, 6 weights total, 47 kg per weight, about 620# total. Tires filled would have been 265 kg each or 1170 total but up where I live, the nearest place that can handle fluid filled tires is over 100 miles away. My job before retiring was Product Support at Caterpillar Paving Products, specifically soil compactors. We filled our tires with 170 liters each calcium chloride solution. Great when everything is going well but even Cat dealers have trouble handling flats. Had many complaints about lack of traction only to find the customer had a flat and was now running with 1 empty tire, 1 ballasted. Plus if I have to trailer my tractor any distance, the extra 1170 pounds of liquid ballast puts me over my trailer weight limit. I can remove the wheel weights (until my back breaks) but its not really feasable to deballast the tires. I may regret it but...

As for the snow blower, that is what the tractor was originally equipped with, but I had them remove it for the more important (with summer coming) loader. I never asked about the price of the blower or how much it will take to switch. Question for October.

Once you get some seat time I would like to know if that's enough weight. Was it a front mount blower? If so does your tractor still have the center PTO? Everything else with the front blower is simple bolt on stuff.

It was a front mount snow blower. It raised and lowered with the loader control, and side to side movement of the loader control swiveled the chute, but I didn't pay any attention to how the blower was driven. I don't have a center pto. When I took pictures at the dealer I paid more attention to the L4740 sitting next to mine to visualize differences between the new loader and my old one.

What is your rear tire size? 24" or 28"?

I got it with 17.5L-24 R4 tires. I know I lose a lot of traction compared to R1s but I have also been finish mowing about 5 acres with my old tractor and the R4s are a lot easier on the ground. Not sure why radials aren't common on this tractor size. There is a 480/70R24 tire from Goodyear/Titan that is about the same loaded radius (tractor wouldn't be any taller) that would seem to be a nice fit but its not offered. They are pricey but I would have considered them if available by Kubota.

Great choice if I do say so - Still trying to get used to the cab myself , Specially on slopes but it's probably my own fears .

So do your wheel weights fit properly into the rim? They should fit tight against the dish of the rim.
Just curious as the weights I was sold don't fit right and the dealer told me that the ones I got were the only ones available. Think I was fed crap.

Mine appear to fit right. I can tell they are designed to fit multiple wheel disks in that there are 3 different hole patterns, one of which matches my wheels. As far as I can tell the weights match the contour of the stamped wheel disk although I assume there is a gap. To get a good, solid clamp load, I would expect there are spacers between the flat weight mount spots on the wheel disk and the cast weight. That way the bolts will torque up right and the weights will stay tight as the disk flexes a bit under load. The weights are cast in India which figures - from my experience prior to retiring India is probably the low cost source for castings, especially castings like this intended only for weight.
