My new wepon RBT 3584 rea blade

It seems that most dealers don't have a clue as to what these tractors are actually capable of handling. :confused2:

Don't get me wrong, very easy to go over kill on the implement and have to constantly monitor it so that you are not stopping.

The perfect match of implement to machine is almost an art and the majority of dealers seem to not be very artistic.

I know that I  for the day that I can afford to get an RBT3584 for my 3215 Mahindra.

One other thing, I wish that ALL the implement manufacturers would rate their ground engaging implements by gross tractor weight instead of HP. With todays tractors you can have the same HP range engines in 3 different frame sizes that have completely different capabilities.

Enough of my complaining, the right implement with the right tractor for the specific job is a joy to operate.

ENJOY ;)

MtnViewRanch,

What you said is why I have the cheapest LP blade they make. Well, at least one reason. When I ordered my tractor (66HP and 8000 pounds) I said I also wanted a rear blade. Not knowing very much about tractors or blades I let the dealer get me whatever. (RB 1684) While it is OK for clearing snow I would sure like the ability to move the blade while in the tractor.

So I too am  for a RBT3584

Honestly, your tractor needs an RBT4096. While the 35RBT series would be fine, the RBT40 series would be better IMO and defiantly a 96" blade.

My RBT45108 is almost over kill for my Mahindra 7520, but at over 12,000lbs that's what I had to go with to be sure that I was not going to mangle another blade. The RBT40 series is only rated for a 9500lb machine, same as the RB35 series which I find a bit odd, but that's how Land Pride has it. Back when I purchased my RBT45108 it had a rating to 15,000lbs. Now somehow they have lowered that rating to 9500lbs. :confused2: I'm pretty sure that Land Pride now has a problem of some kind with rating their rear blades, because they sure are not built the same where they would have the same ratings. :confused3:

I sure love my RBT45108, what a great implement. Someday I'll have the smaller one for my smaller tractor also.

What kind of price range would a RBT4096 be in?

Only a guess, but around $3500. I personally would go for hyd angle and offset and leave the tilt manual. But that is because I have "T&T" on my tractors and can tilt the hitch.

I have never priced a blade like the OP or Piston's. About how much are they?

Mine was a deal at just under $3K with the shoes that a $225 add on. Usually with 2 hydraulics they run $3200 in my neighborhood. Messics has them cheaper, but shipping brought it back to more than what I found mine for. However depending on shipping to your area prices may be cheaper. You can also possibly get one with no hydraulics or manual adjusters in the $2600 range. Check the land Pride dealers in your area - you might get lucky.

Nice! Looks like a lot of blade for a ct235 - do you think you'll get tossed around a lot on those R4s, or do you have chains?
Oh I see your rears are filled, that must help a lot.

I also have chains. Tractor weighs in at about 3600 lbs.

I was going to buy a brand new rear blade a couple years ago, so I got some quotes on both the RBT3596 and RBT4096.

These are the notes I have:

Rear blade:
Land pride RB 3572 $1459
Rbt 3584 $2199 - no hyd
W hyd = $3100

RBT4096-$3060
W/ hyd-$3850
Skid shoes +200
No gauge wheel available

RBT3596 with full full hyd and gauge wheel $4129

Note that the blade itself is the same on the 35 and 40 series, it's just the frame (and perhaps pin) that is a bit heavier duty.
For some reason Landpride doesn't offer a gauge wheel option for the 40 series, but it does for the 35 series.

I ended up finding my 4096 used, so I never found out what the true "out the door" price would have been (taxes etc)

I'm planning on "someday" building a hydraulic gauge wheel for it. I already have the design, wheel, and the cylinder, just need to get the time and materials for the rest of it.

Thanks guys for the pricing.
The dealer I bought my tractor from is a Land Pride dealer, so when I can convince my wife how great her life would be by having it, I'll go get one.

When doing finish dirt work on a driveway with a crown, I often put the valve that controls the tilt in float and let the blade just follow the contour. This works especially well on the final pass with a very light touch in reverse, pushing the blade. If you don't have a rear remote with float, you can temporarily disconnect the tilt cylinder and see if this works for you. A cheap way to implement float (as opposed to a new rear remote) is to put an electrically activated valve across the tilt hydraulic lines and just open it for float, essentially "short circuiting" the cylinder.
