A lot of manufactures have this problem. VW, the company that sells the most turbo charged engines have this same problem too. It is easily solved with a water/air inter cooler than the air/air inter cooler. VW has has plenty of TDI's hydro lock. The new VW engines all have the water/air inter cooler.

To the best of my knowledge, the only aftermarket intercoolers are air to air. One does have a water vent, but that doesn't solve the problem of eliminating the pressure drop in the first place that condenses out the water from the intake charge. However, I did just ask an engine forum if anybody knew of a specific 3.5L water to air application. Be nice if somebody did because it would all but eliminate the water charging problem due to the near nothing pressure drop water to air intercoolers tend to enjoy.

I googled the model number.

That said, get an excavator as they are way more efficient than backhoes.

Unless you're parking over a mile away from where you're working or drive through town to go gas up. Even on this video i drive nearly a quarter mile and that is just to a staging area.

Too bad. I have a 2013 Passat tdi. It's great average 45 mpg and has the water/air inter cooler. No worries on hydro locking or frozen inter coolers in the winter.

Update: Cab top #2 showed up at the dealer and, Pride, the go to guy at my dealer, opened up the box and the second cab top is cracked in the same place at the first replacement cab top.

D'oh!

F150 wise, I finally did something I first suggested to others back in 2011 after people started having issues with condensation-induced misfires in the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost, which is hogging in a 1/16th in hole at the bottom to allow oil and water to vent out the bottom of the intercooler before getting ingested. Since I've been under warrantee, I never followed my own advice. Today, in a fit of wondering what to do with myself before warming a barstool in Jordan MN, I finally hogged in a hole into my own intercooler.

What shipping company shipped the roof for your tractor? This summer I ordered a gas tank for my 69 chevy truck and after the third damaged one thanks to UPS I decided to have the original one repaired. I was told certain depots are known for damaging products, so that was when I decided to get mine repaired.

It isn't the shipping company's problem, Pride, at my dealer agreed with me: it looks like the plastic banding that holds it to the pallets is crunching the cab caps. In other words, it is packaging problem. Pride tells me he is talking to one of Kioti's higher-ups about the problem. Meanwhile, since it is now snowing in northern MN and I have not winterized my lake home (didn't think I'd be gone this long in southern MN waiting for parts), I offered to take both damaged cab tops for a discount so that I can chase back up north, flip on my boiler, knock out some more work at the new parcel, Stash the NX over at my sister's pole barn with the snow plow, and then winterize.

F150 wise, after 100 miles from this morning, the backside of my airdamn shows how much oil got pushed out the weep hole. Any water that was also pushed out through the 1/16th inch hole I put in the bottom of my intercooler has evaporated. I plan to wash this off Thursday so as to try and determine just how much oil is passing through the intercooler for my own information. I'll also dump the catch can so as to assess how often I'll need to babysit it in the future.

Today I thought I was going to work on my chain saw mount idea, but no.

Everybody was stressing over the damaged in packaging cab top problem: me because winter is coming and it just snowed up there yesterday and i need to get up there no later than next week to keep pipes from freezing, my dealer because the box is huge and not knowing what to do, Kioti because they shipping the only two cap tops they have in North America and the rest are in Korea. Anyway, while discussing the problem with my mother as we chased off to warm up a barstool, my 88-year-old mother suggested the best way out for everybody was to accept the damaged cab tops so everybody could move on. Roll forward to this afternoon and, Pride, at Elite Lift Truck, proposed the idea of two damaged cab tops for the price of one to the power that be at Kioti and Kioti went for it. Thanks to Kioti for resolving the problem to everyones satisfaction!

I now need of some JB weld, bondo and Kioti orange paint.

Today I also ordered a 78" Everything Attachments CAT 1 & 2 box blade for road-making and general grading work. I decided to go with the heavier blade that is CAT 2 Quick Hitch compatible rather than the lighter blade that could be made to work with CAT2. Everything Attachments gave me a little discount on shipping because Everything Attachments likes this Kioti NX thread and figures the box blade will make it into photos and video at some point. Anybody who knows me, knows that all of my machines have some kind of gag on them, something that makes the casual onlooker smile or laugh. Although I already have the bigfoot light switch, I tripped over this emblem at the store a couple of days ago and couldn't resist slapping it on my little tractor.

The deal having been struck with Kioti, I bolted the cap top down and gooped on the six minute JB Weld, which in these colder temperatures will cure like the 24 hour stuff. Weather tight! I'll sand and Bondo, sand, seal, prime and paint as weather permits.
