Go with the 3010 you will be much more happy with the larger size and get a box for the rear of the tractor for both a counter weight and also to help loosen up some of the dirt.

A pile of dirt thats 100'x4'x4' contains 59.25 cubic yards of dirt.

Franco,

I just checked my B21 with a TL421 front loader. The maximum lift height is 88.8" (ground to the bottom of the bucket). The reach @ maximum height is 20.5"(front of the tractor guard to tip of bucket)At 68" the reach is more like 30". The maximum height with the bucket in full dump is 66.5". I think this loads your 68" truck. You can almost clear the side with the bucket in full dump, but that won't get any dirt in the truck/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. The backhoe makes a great counter balance~1000 lbs hanging out behind.

FRANCO,
I HAVE A B2710. TO LOAD COMPACTED DIRT REGARDLESS OF THE SIZE OF THE TRACTOR I WOULD USE A TOOTH BAR. A BUCKET WITHOUT A TOOTHBAR IS LIKE TRYING TO EAT CORN ON THE COB WITHOUT TEETH. I CAN ALSO DIG A HOLE WITH THE LOADER TO BURY THE TRACTOR./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yeah Fred,

I can too, but I use the scarfiers on the boxblade to rip the soil and the bucket to load it. My M6800 weighs about 8000# and the boxblade about 1000#. With 68HP and 4WD, I can push a lot of dirt with the loader, but the scarfiers are much more efficient and MUCH stronger than using teeth on a bucket to dig with. The loading height goes up with each increment in loaders. There is a reason for this. To maintain stability with 2000# of dirt 10 feet in the air, you need a wide stance on the tractor wheels and a lot of weight on the ground.

Franco,

I recently purchased a NH TC45D FWD-R4's w/16la loader. I also added a 72" WOODS box scraper with scracifiers. I can easily break undisturbed ground with the loader and quickly grade with the WOODS. I went through much of the pre-purchase angst your describing. I originally planned to purchase a 30hp compact..... glad I didn't. The additional weight and horsepower of the TC45D made all the difference in the world!
