I got over 400 feet of water and electric line installed with the help of my 2 inlaw son's

I got the lines mostly covered this weekend.. Still have two freeze proof faucets to install and some PVC line to insulated and cover behind the trailer.

I got 3 electric lines live still have some things to complete before that iif finished.

The temp was at about 100 this weekend so I took things pretty slow.

I am glad this is mostly done.

Stan,
I know in an earlier post you said that you were close to county water but they said they have no capacity for additional homes. Is that still the case or was that a temporary thing? I am buying 25 acres between Madisonville and Bedias off of hwy 90 and union rd area but it is my understanding that water is available at the road and a portion of the property is road frontage so I guess I was just assuming we would not have to put in a well.
Also last time I put in power up in that area we were off fm 3091 and we needed two power poles to get it to our meter pole but I thought they did that for free...Did they have to go a long ways to get it to you, and is there some sort of distance where it is free?

I think there could be several community water companies in the county. I forget the name of the one by me. They were 1000 feet from my gate. If they had the capaicty it would have cost $4 per foot for the water line. I do not remember if there was a water meter fee.

Your agent will know if there is community water at the street. The well cost me about $8600..

I have MidSout Synergy out of Navasota. Thye put in 2 poles about 600 feet of line and 400 amp service.. It was about $6500. I think I get a $1500 rebate after 1 year. Each electric provider is different.

That is a pretty area

Stan, it must have cooled off a bit since you have a light jacket on. Up here, it's in the high 70s every morning when I get up. Or perhaps that's because you have air conditioning in your cab and need it to stay warm. Color me jealous.

I have lots of dead trees too. Some of them I just can't explain like big cedar trees that had plenty of moisture. I have several post oaks in my yard that I will lose too. I think they are stressed because of the heat while their roots are moist due to my watering the yard. They're just confused. For whatever reason, I have mature trees that suddenly get sick and die. It's just the nature of post oaks, it seems.:(

Is sudden oak wilt or whatever its called made it to your state or county? It started out there in California. i know sudden oak wilt has not made it east of the missippi, i dont beleive?

A tip on cutting trees. You want your "wedge to be flat on the bottom on the front and your back cut to be more flat. ITs not that big of a deal till you start cutting big stuff and are trying to put trees precisly. Small trees i usually just cut all the way through and let them fall the way there leaning. Those pics of you using the say where your getting practice, i will push those over as well as i cut.

Reason i say this is if you start cutting big stuff, way bigger and greener than that stump with your wallet on it you need the correct technique. Im not perfect my self and need to get wedges, as i have had several large heavy trees sit back on my saw cause i had no wedges with me. Anyway if you start cutting to high up and put those downward angle cuts its hard to get your wedged banged in and to help "lift" the tree up and start it moving.

Just some advice for ya, like i said im not perfect myself.
