Wayne, me thinks if you could just lower your sunshade a bit...... and put some lexan across the back, you'd have a cab !

Have to get low profile lights before I can do that. I have a piece of lexan for the back too, just didn't have time to put it on. Will be adding a chute rotation motor then things will be pretty good.

Although it isn't totally closed in it sure is a bunch better than last year.

Do you notice a lot of difference with your femco weather brake? I've been looking into those pretty seriously this year. Seems to me if it could just keep your feet a little warmer it would be well worth it.

Thanks to NY YANKEES FAN posting his setup a few years ago, I'm in my 3rd season with mine. Has held up well in high winds.

BTW fellow Granite Stater's picture was taken last year, thus the lack of snow. Current storm should end in a couple of hours. Then it's play, play oops I mean work, work, work again.

I have only had this on for a few days now, but I think it is really nice and is a lot warmer than not having one at all, which is how I blow or plowed snow for many years. I still have a few things to do to tighten it up a bit, but I believe it is worth what I paid for it. I can actually be out blowing snow for hours and come in and be relatively dry!

Send me a PM and I will provide you with additional information regarding where I purchased it.

I wonder if this would work to keep out the rain too. Just bought prop in Washington and got a Yanmar 336D to work on it but of course it rains a little up there. Checked New York Yankees Fan previous post and looked at Northern Tool site where he got his. Interesting thing is it's lower in price right now but the shipping weight went from 9 lbs. to 15 lbs. Sounds a little funny that weight would increase that much in several years. Anyway other post gave another site Golf Cart Accessories, Golf Cart Parts, Golf Car - The Most Golf Cart Accessories and Golf Cart Parts from Buggies Unlimited that had it for $68.99 which was $16.00 less then Northern Tool. Don't know what they want for shipping has you have to almost place the order by filling out all the order info to get the price, so forget that. I hate it when you have to fill out all that information to just get a shipping quote.

Ram,

Yes it will keep the rain out depending on how tight the fit is on your tractor. Seems that rain will always find a place to leak. I have to believe you will be dryer then without the cover for any length of time in the weather.

WayneB,

This is the first time I have seem the Femco unit. In the past I have looked at the likes of the Curtis Cabs etc but they are way too expensive for the amount of time I would need it. The Femco looks like a interesting compromise. I agree that with a few more pieces you almost have an enclosed cab!

Can you tell me (typically) how much does one cost?

Also, it there drilling involved or is it mainly bolt on?

Thanks,

~jim

I looked at the full cabs (would really like to have one), but just could not afford them. The first thing I purchased was the sunshade top off from Ebay. The thought was to keep the snow off from the seat area, if possible.

As for the Femco unit for my tractor (B-7500) I ended up ordering a unit that was designed to fit a B-7610. The person I bought it from wasn稚 sure if it would fit the B-7500, but I figured if it needed a bit of customizing I might be able to do it. Ended up that it fit fine and there was no drilling required. The kit provided all of the bolts, nuts, and fasteners required to install the weather break. I paid $310 plus shipping for the Femco unit and $212 for the sunshade.

I have purchased a piece of Plexiglas to install on the ROPS and will be doing that shortly, once I get the chute rotating motor assembly completed and installed. Right now I need to be able to reach to the handle of the chute rotator.

Jim I sent you a PM regarding this.
