I did have a real bummer moment last Saturday. When prepping the trailer to move to a secure storage yard. I pulled the levelers out. When I did the drawers on the red tools box rolled open. The whole thing tipped over! The bottom drawers were crushed and the top chest tweaked in every way.:(:ashamed::mad: Didn't have time to do much more a quick clean and finish securing for travel to fully check it out. I think the whole thing is total loss. Darn, I should have locked and/or strapped it first!

BW,
That is a nice looking project you have going. I am amazed that you can function inside that storage trailer. That is a real bummer about the tool box! From the looks of things, you obviously take great pride in keeping your mobile shop clean and organized.

How will you get the trailer moved from inside your box trailer? Your avatar shows you have a FEL, but didn't know if you had a boom pole for it or not. Best of luck on your future progress.

The trailer is designed to fit inside the cargo trailer with my Kubota. One option is just push/pull it straight in/out by hand or tractor. I'm considering a few options to be able place it sideways in the nose. 1. Fork pockets 2. Rigging points to lift it with forks or bucket. 3. Kubota QA mount built into the side. Pick up and move it similar attaching a bucket or forks. 4. Swivel casters that can lowered for a freedom of movement. I'll be using one or more of these options. The actual finished weight and dimensions may be a factor.

In the short term. I'll build the frame, bed and tongue. All of which can be manhandled. Final assembly will be done outside or in shop at home. Then I'll remove my tools and such and my cargo trailer will my Kubota's home again.

Not trying to one up anyone here, but I thought this could be a nice place to show off some picks of my "mobile shop".

Nice shop. You give me hope that I don't need a lot of space to have a nice, functional, work area.

Brain55,

While I do feel 'one upped'. Not to worry. My trailer fits my needs very well. My trailer isn't a dedicated shop. While it saves me money, I don't make any off it. I always enjoy seeing places like yours. Gives me ideas for improvements to my own equipment. And yours shop is incredible!

I feel your pain on this. I went though a steep learning curve on how secure things needed to be inside my trailer. In my previous trailer, I had the side cabinet on my toolbox come off, tip over, and block the door so I couldn't get into the trailer. I also had my hydraulic hose machine and cabinet come unbolted and tip over. My drill press broke its stand and fell off the bench more than once.

This time around I worked even harder to keep things in their place. Far more screws than what seems practical to keep things attached to the wall. Metal straps to keep drawers from opening, The drill press is bolted through the bench to a 3" round pipe stand and then through the floor, there is also 1 1/2" aluminum plate sandwiched between the base and the bench top. I still had the top drawer of my tool box open, twist itself off of the dual ball bearing roller slides and dump half the sockets on the floor and that was with the box locked. Now I have a strap that screws to the front of the box and drops through the floor that keeps all of the big drawers from opening even if I forget to lock it. All the extra securing devices in the world don't help when I get in a hurry and roll down the road without all of them in place.
