My test of a rubber scraper vs a pipe on the blade edge results

AND I have tried a chunk of heavy duty PVC pipe on my rear blade cutting edge. I was totally surprised - after being cut/slit lengthwise and slid over the cutting edge, it stayed on, worked great but, unfortunately, did not last long. The gravel driveway was just too abrasive for the PVC pipe.
How long did it last? FYI: there's a big difference in PVC Schedule 40 vs Schedule 80 pipe. Schedule 40 & 80 Pipe Dimensions

Somewhere here, I think, I read that ABS pipe worked better than PVC.

What is the best way to cut rubber like a stall mat?

I used a stiff straight edge and a razor knife.

I would like to try an osculating saw but I didn't have one at the time.

I also had no problem using a straightedge and utility/razor knife. If the blade is dragging too much spray a little WD-40 along the cut.

What is the best way to cut rubber like a stall mat?

I buy the cheapest circular saw blade I can find. If they are still usable after cutting stall mats, that's a bonus. Otherwise, i throw them out.

I have tried both the belting and pipe to keep from plowing the gravel off my driveway and neither has kept me from having to rake gravel off the grass, both have lessened the amount of gravel on the grass. The abs pipe does not last long and neither did the belting. Currently I have a piece of 2 inch metal pipe on and even it is getting pretty worn.

Over the years I found the best approach is to just keep it really gentle and not dig in at all until the ground is completely frozen. After that you can pretty much do as you please. I learned that the hard way many years back when I did a real nice bank job because my back blade wasn't flat. It took a lot longer to fix than it did to create.

Utility knife (several passes) cut my horse stall mat just fine.

I tried plastic pipe and it worked well for a while, until it wore out. I'm going to try horse stall mat next
