My truck is in the ditch!

That reminds me that there was a similar situation on our local private road. A car went off on a steep bank and was caught by a stump. A neighbor brought their LARGE excavator and small dozer and pulled or lifted it back onto the road.

I had HF's largest come-along. (2 ton?) It came apart with about a 500 lb pull. I replaced it with one from Maasdam with the same rating, but about 4 times larger.

Dave, you are very right about it being dangerous, The truck can easily roll, or a cable or chain could snap, or a tow rig could slide around which could really hurt someone. I will look around for someone with better equipment, I wouldn't even think a regular tow truck like shown in Eric's picture would do much good. In the meantime, I understand we are getting more snow!

I tossed a set of chains in the truck a week ago,,,
no ditches for my Silverado,,,
I would bet we get more ice covered roads per year than a northern state like New York.

The only thing better than chains is staying home!!

But what I found out is chains on the rear don't keep the front from sliding sideways. I would modify what you said a bit about nasty weather and ice; without chains your better off staying home.

First off, you MUST detach that plow - it is only going to serve to thwart your attempts to move the truck. Your best option would be to lift it vertically. How far off the road surface is it? Pictures would help most, but is it possible, you could rent a telehandler. They have hydraulic suspensions which allow them to provide a level lift platform while parked on uneven terrain. Extend the boom, use the shortest length of chain possible and lift the truck up and bring in the boom. AND CHAIN everything

Release the plow somehow than 100 hp tractor turn, even better tractor has front loader...pics would help.

I agree with those who say to release the plow. I would take it off, then pull the plow out with a tractor.
Then I might try to attach the 100hp tractor your neighbor had to the side of the truck frame and pull sideways/downhill so that the truck can't slide further into the ditch as you back it down the hill and pull it onto the road. You might need both tractors, yours to pull downhill and your neighbor's to hold the truck so it cannot slide sideways.
You might also try doing the above, but leave the plow on and angled all the way to the left or right so it helps suck the front of the truck back onto the road.
But that is just a guess based on a text description. As others have said, pictures are needed.

Without pictures it's pretty hard to say but ...It needs to come out the way it went in. Have the heavy tractor secure the front of the truck with a chain through the front rim. This will stop it from sliding down further. Have the other tractor pull from the rear rim, out the way it went in. Adjust the tractor's accordingly as you go. Clear any snow that may be in the way and go slow.

As a followup to my earlier post, here is an example with a tow truck using a tree and two winch lines to keep a van on a ditch bank from flipping over:
If you can get both tractors with 2-3 people there, I would use the neighbor's borrowed 100HP tractor for the side line (the one that they have around the tree in the video, pulling sideways to get it back onto the road) and your 50HP tractor to pull it downhill.
Before doing this I would plow the road with your tractor and if possible, throw some salt down ahead of time to melt (or at least loosen up) the ice so the tractors can get traction.
