Nice package deal. You will be happy.

I don't buy into the "you need a big tractor"
Just look at all the pics I posted of the roads I built with my B2620 and the 300 yards of gravel I moved with it. Sure it takes longer, but it can be done.....with very little fuel and maintenance costs.

I use my little B for everything at home, despite having large earth moving equipment available.

Do like I did, as soon as I could I put a big M on the front guard and then I made a dump trailer and put a big M on it. Her name is Mary and you know what. It gets washed now and then, also it has had 2 wax jobs. She well not mow with it, but does other stuff with it. Wow there is that stuff word again.

I also have a G1900S with a 54" deck and just stepped up to a BX25 with a 60" deck. The truth is the old G1900 is hard to beat as a mower but the BX is a lot more fun (and money)!

It's a "GUY THING"!!!
I just bought my first tractor as well. My wife didn't mind as she has her own "orange machine'!!!

She enjoys mowing and doing yard work, however she's a little intimidated by the tractor. I figure once she gets a little time on it she'll do fine.

Next time you have a sizeable project tell your wife you need some help and have her operate the tractor.

You're nothing if not subtle Leejohn.

That grapple is nice:shocked:. How much do those run for a BX??

The Grapple (SGC0548) from Land Pride is about $1200. Then you need the remote hyd kit/controller for another $600. Lastly, you will want the Quick-Coupler kit for easy bucket to grapple swapping - another $250.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Man, who'da thunk I'd find such good marital advice on a tractor forum?! :)

I'm thinking Leejohn is a genius and Mike has way more money than I do. BigBoyToys, that is a nice looking retaining wall and lawn, and it looks even better with your wife maintaining it!

Actually, I'll confess that my wife isn't so much upset that I got the tractor - it's that I want to keep the G1900. OK, I'll really come clean. I have TWO G1900s and another old one for parts! Loved the first one; bought the second one for parts and ended up restoring it so that it's a nice mower too. So, there are right now 4 Kubota machines on my one acre subdivision lot with no barn. I'm going to move the parts mower to my father-in-law's farm and probably give the second mower to my brother-in-law. I still want to keep my G1900, though.

So, I've been a pretend tractor guy for a while now with my Kubota G1900 garden tractor (really just a killer diesel lawn mower) and have just acquired a BX 1860. I know that's still a pretend tractor to many of you, but I am thrilled. //
It is absolutely amazing the amount of work people do with those. Horses for courses: that's a powerful, nimble machine that will last many years. And I bet you can sell that G1900 in a heartbeat.....

I had to override the wife's veto to get my JD 3032e, it's been 6 months and she still she is still angry aboutit. This grudge could last for a while. It has been a back saver and allowed me to do things not only faster, but at all. //
I told mine "We are buying this to improve the value of the property." Once I reopened a trail along the stream she was on board with it.

I guess I'd have to side with your wife on this one. I'm surprised someone hasn't complained that you're in violation of some subdivision ordinance with all that "orange stuff" out there.

Personally I don't think you need more than one machine to maintain your property. Looks like the G1900 is worth $3-4K...use the money to buy a few new implements. A spreader, aerator and dethatcher would probably come in handy. The more things you can do with the tractor will make it more fun to use.

Funny, I just re-read my original post title and it sounds like I'm trolling for an affair. :(

Although I live in a subdivision, it's a wooded, secluded area. My house is the only one on our road so somebody would have to go out of their way to discover my Kubota ranch. Actually, all but one machine are stored under cover; the parts mower is under a tarp outside but still out of sight. Still, I need to get rid of at least two of the G1900s.

Our yard is pretty sloped so I don't know if I can get her to mow or not. I might, however, get her to use the loader bucket on a level area. I'm thinking that might just do it! I'll make sure we work at dusk and need to lift something awkward and heavy; that way "she" will have the big idea that we need bucket hooks and lights!
