I don't even know what palliative care is. I will be honest I would have to Google it.

You are not alone. There is only one accredited Palliative Care Hospital in the state of Texas, and the guy who runs is is a good friend of my wife. When she asked him what his definition of Palliative care was, he didn't know.
During her research, she spoke to the people that where over the Palliative care in at least three hospitals per state, and she contacted hospitals in all 50 states, plus she spoke to people in several other countries, and there is no definitive answer to what Palliative Care is. Most confuse it with Hospice. Maybe half a dozen places in the world have an actual program in place to get people off of Palliative care and into recovery. Sadly, most just consider it a death sentence and no longer treat or even pay attention to those who are on Palliative Care.
What has everyone excited at the University about her research is that it just might provide a way to change all of that. She has 4 articles to publish from her research, and depending on how they are received, and the response that comes from them, will decide what happens next.
