Get yourself some white meat wrapping paper and lay it on the floor in a garage. Secure it with tape so it doesn't blow all over the place. Now back your tractor ontop of the paper. Shut if off and look carefully for spots on the paper. If you don't find any. Start up the tractor and look again with it running. No spots yet. Start by checking the transmission move it back and forth and look for spots. Got thru a range of functions until you do or don't see anything. If that doesn't show anything.............I'd stop worrying about it.

Sincerely,Dirt

Great idea, I will try that out and see what happens.
Thanks Dirt!!!

While the tractor is parked try and use every option that you use while operating the tractor. Use the hydraulics, jack it up and use the drive train as well. Have you looked at your axle hubs?

Did my 50 hour not long ago and that includes hydro on the 790. The hydro that came in my tractor from the factory had a pink / red color to it. I know that the JD hi lo is brownish - that is what I put in.........

Vehicles are in the garage when I blow snow, and they don't leak anything.

I was thinking that the spots are under the snow and only show up when you drive over them. I can't think of any other explanation for spots in a tire track. But if there are no leaking vehicles around, it must be something else.

That's funny stuff right there guys!!!!!! But in all seriousness-- all 3 cats and 2 dogs are accounted for, otherwise I am sure the kids would have alerted me long ago.

Thanks for the good laugh though, my wife and oldest daughter got a good kick out of it too.

Front axle is light tan/brown color.

Blew snow today and only found a few spot here and there. I put on 1.5hrs today and the spots were ---very spotty---. Maybe it is working it out on it's own. Still has me baffled as to what the heck it is. Oh well, it is what it is.

Thanks for the help anyways guys. Always appreciated!!!!
