It has been a bad week for my projects. Using a brand new Dewalt round head 20-degree nailer to frame the floor for a small shed and it just stopped firing nails. Re-adjusted the nose depth, checked for jams, air pressure steady at 110psi. Less than 200 nails through this $250 dollar tool and all that happens when I squeeze the trigger is a slight amount of air seems to discharge around the trigger area (hard to tell.)

The owners manual does not address this problem and most Google fixes seem to caused by worn out parts. I have used a decent tool repair guy in the area but man is this irritating. Oiled nail gun 50 nails past with pneumatic oil but I would not think that would cause this. It was working perfectly.

This is my first experience using a nail gun, any obvious things I need to check?

Use another tool to check you are getting air. I had the inside of a hose to collapse one time lost hair on that one until I checked another tool on the air line.

Thanks, great idea, unfortunately just tried my impact wrench and getting plenty of air

If it's brand new and just stopped driving nails that soon, I'd assume you got a defective unit.

The only thing I'd suggest checking is the safety mechanism -- make sure it's still working right and doing what it's supposed to do.

Ummm. bring it back for a new one? Unless that is a major ordeal (online or far away and you need it NOW), that is what I would do...

Do you have a moisture separator in your airline? I had that happen every time I didn't have some sort of drier, the trigger mechanism gums up with a water/oil mix and no fire.

Been running this off a small portable compressor without a moisture separator. I have tried to drain moist of the condensation from the tank prior to using so this could be a possibility. Is it an easy fix, I have been unable to locate a detailed repair manual. Thanks

You might have a plugged port. I had a similar incident with my PC 350 when I got it used. I was told it didn't work and that was what was after I dissembled and cleaned the head with WD and an air gun. Hardened piece of something (grease? wax?) came shooting out of a port in the cap....being so new I also guess you might be able to return it also

Is there an online parts assembly to look at?

Get a replacement before the warranty runs out.

I used a $80 6-in-1 framing nailer from Harbor Freight for 10 years to build a half-dozen sheds. That nailer never missed. Must have driven 10,000 nails with it. Just kept it oiled. Ran it off a Porter Cable roll-around compressor without a dryer in the air line.

Good luck
