OK guys. Lets have a little fun. Here's a little tool that's welding related and I'm curious to see how many or you have seen it before. For those who haven't I'm sure you'll be looking for one when you realize what it is and what it does.

Hey big that was a pretty good guess for someone who say's he's not much of a welder. I'm bett'in your better than your lett'in on You didn't win the prize but you got high points :thumbsup:

Used to clean the face of a cutting torch tip. Stick the tip in the hollow tube and use the cutter to dress the end. Then clean out the holes.

Then again I could be wrong.

I saw a picture of one in an old welding book. I have never seen or used one my self.

We, ( that sell Gas apparatus ) would rather sell you a Beautiful new Cutting Tip instead of you cleaning your own....nice tool that was fairly common in the 70's..You could only use it a couple times before the tip started to act up. It actually removed the copper material.. Saved the owner $$$..

It was given to me over a year ago. I sure didn't know what it was until the guy told me. I've used it since then about a dozen times and works great. I haven't seen another one since so I thought some of you might find it interesting to see. Thanks for the info as well.

Nice tool especially since it was given to you. I've seen them at the supply store but never bought or used one. Strange thing is that when you posted the pic I didn't recognize it that way. I usually just take a rasp and hit mine and then clean it. Of course if my buddy gave me one I'd use it. :thumbsup:

Got one in my toolbox at work. Works good on a hand torch tip. Don't use it much anymore with the pantograph torch doing most of the cutting and using a different style (propane) tip.

I like it. Never seen one before today. Definately not in the stores around here. Ill have to keep my eyes open for one when im in the city again.

I may have seen one,[seen alot of things that are forgotten now,],,but can tell you I never used one,always used tip cleaners,and filed the tip a little,used to do alot of cutting too.
