I ordered an alternator for a 1972 Nissan 510. The first store I ordered from (a national chain store) the cost was $30. When it came in it didn't match too well. The mounting was okay, but the wireing was all different. The letters printed on it didn't match, the wire attachment didn't match, etc. I don't know if it was a mistake or what. I don't know if it coul've been made to work or not.

Anyway I ordered from a mom and pop autoparts store for the same 1972 Nissan 510. This was $50, but they had a picture and it looked good. When it came in, everything matched and it is made by Hitachi. Just as simple to put it in as it was to take the original out. Matched perfectly.

This all was for a 2210D.

Thanks Keith, I saw on the internet that there was a 30.00 and a higher (50jor 60.00) can't remember. I'll go for the higher priced one and hope that I can find the matching connector for the back.

Gary, just use Female Wire connetors. The two wires that your missing W/Blk to the bottom and W maybe with a red stripe to the top. Look back and you will be able to tell from my pic.. fwiw I think mine is the Org alt..:)

Thanks Carey. That will help figure them out. I would like to find the plug but if not, I can do what you said and use the connectors and put some sealer around them. Just want something to keep corrosion out.

Looks like it will be a few days before they get the roads opened up so I can get to the parts store. Oklahoma is not set up to deal with 13" of snow and the folks around here have no idea on how to drive in it.

Atleast your mostly Country Folks. You should check out Ga. I believe it was Atl. that ran out of Salt and Sand last week in 2days. Only snow we've had this yr.:ashamed: And a few County's had to Sub. out the Road clearing. They Didn't have the equipment to do it. I'm orig. from Wv. Oh.and Md. before moving down here. The City Slickers and Brothers. wouldn't last a week up there. :p

On the connectors I would just use the ones with a Rubber Cover will be just fine.

In Oklahoma they don't clear county roads where I live. Maybe near OK City or Tulsa but for the rest of us we have to wait on mother nature to do the work. I grew up in Northern Indiana about 11 miles from the Michigan border so I know about snow. Down here they have no idea how to deal with it or drive in it for that matter. It does provide for some entertainment on the news though.:D
