A report on signs said that the more the sign looked like a Gov't sign, the better it was obeyed.

I asked several hunters in Texas what the purple paint stood for, they did not have a clue, stick to signs. Find the law in your state on the spacing.

PA has the same law as Texas. Painting a vertical purple line on trees or posts was approved in 2019 as a legal replacement for signs.

Indiana just recently became a purple paint state. That is the only reason I know this law.

Purple paint is a bad idea. Some people are colorblind and might not even see the paint. And if they did see something painted they probably wouldn't have any idea what color it is.

Signs are best, but evidently trespassers can't read. I have a sign on my driveway but people drive right past it.

Get an official looking sign as mentioned, then add this below it.

Missouri has been a purple paint state for a few years now. Maybe 10.

Official looking you say?

I have one of these on the back door window of my house:

No, I wouldn't recommend posting them on your yard fence posts. This one was given to me by a US Marshall (not a deputy) when I worked for Uncle Sam. Oh, got the hat too.

A real one. Not a commercial copy.

Yes, it varies by state. Review the posting requirements for your own state.

It sounds like you're ready to go overboard. "How many feet apart?" Perhaps every fence post? That way, someone can't claim they didn't see it.

My "purple stripes" were put up on one side partially adjoining a mobile home park. I put them facing the three roadways which were perpendicular to my property line. The only reason I did that was I found a lot of trash along the line the first time I mowed. By trash, I mean hard trash. Like cinder block, wood, car parts, furniture and old toys. I also told the owner of the park I was going to put a hog pen along that line if the trash continues. I haven't had any more problems. ;)

That's a great idea. LOL. A hog pen beside a pig sty.
