MAN!! I am afraid to ask how THAT even happened??:)

I was going to retrieve a 2400# ballast weight I had to leave behind when I got my Deere stuck a few weeks before. I felt the rear sit down and stopped to back out of it using the front bucket to push back. When that didn't work I turned around in the seat and tried to pull with the rear at the same time and that didn't work. Then I started to dig the muck out behind the hoe to find hard ground to pull against. After digging for a few moments I heard the fan hitting something and turned around to find the front had settled to where you see it here. It took a Deere 700 lgp dozer to pull it out and the suction pulled both front tires off the rims.

Shame that was a Deere. A Case could have been out in about 2-3 minutes. We dug drainage ditches through stuff like that when we first bought our property 25 years ago. The Deere controls just aren't set-up to do it like the Case controls are. With the Case, you can lift and push with the rear bucket at the same time with one hand while lifting and rolling the front bucket with the other. I can take a Case 580/590/680 through material up to about 4 feet deep pretty easy.

If not for the 24" post oak on the one side I think I could have gotten it out, but it does make for a good story.

That Deere definately has the power for it. I just like the Case controls better for that kind of thing. Of course, 25+ years of running Case backhoes could have me a little jaded too.

The deere is ok and I never have liked case, but cat is by far my hoe of choice. I had a few tell me that they could have gotten it out, but I was just happy to still see the cab at this point.

For me, after so many years on the Case hoes, I'd kill someone with those joysticks. LOL Never could keep swing and curl straight. I can run the Case while sleeping.

The funny part though, is that I never seem to have a problem on a trackhoe. Must have something to do with the joysticks being out in front instead of on the armrests.:confused2:
