Phoo, okay I'll chime in as I live in an area with a lot of swimming pools. Let me ask you this, do you think and above ground cement tank in your back yard can be made to look "pretty?" I guess I am jsut not visualizing it or something but 'attractive" is not a word that comes to mind when I think of your project, even if eventually you close it in with a bulding. I really do think the best solution is to get yourself built a custom fiberglass pool. No liners, no leaking they put holes in in all the right places etc. I don't see any reason you can't have it reach up to the height you want, but i'm no expert. It jsut seems to me that you ahve this idea from when you were a kid, even read a book about it when you were 10 years old and that has kind of closed you off to different approaches. I would think that any potential buyer of your home would offer a discount on the purchase price just becasue concrete looks so darned solid, if they don't want a pool then your pool looks like it would be a project to remove. however a fiberglass pool would not look like to much to remove. One day when we put in a pool we will put in fiberglass, concrete can crack and leak (my borther in law has a huge concrete pool and it leaks), liners can split and leak, thick fiberglass jsut doesn't ever leak, period and the blue color is pleasing, asthetically pleasing.
Whne oyu start this project i hope you will be a good tBNer and post pics, as we will all be interested to see how it goes.
