Tractor
TYM T330 w/ lt300 loader
Need a tractor to maintain 4.3 acres. Thinking about a new kubota. The finanacing is 0% right now. Looking at a L2800 4-wheel drive. Thinking about using a 72inch finishing mower. Is this tractor enough for a 72inch finishing. Supposibly there is 24pto horsepower with this rig. also want to trailer this tractor to my other acreage of timber to do various chores. Think I will get a bucket at some point. Any ideas would be helpful. Any recommended makes?

No doubt that Kubota would have adequate power for the 72" mower.

I would look into adding the Front End Loader now instead of later. I'm sure you'll get a good deal if you roll that into the initial purchase price.

If it's a financial issue, look into purchasing used or renting a mower (if you rent, odds are you'll have to go with a rear mower).

Good luck!

brianMO,

I suggest you look at a Century 2028 for comparison purposes. It's 25 PTO HP. You should be able to get one with a C-50 loader for around $14000. Here's a dealer in Texas with a package deal.

I assume you're in Missouri, and it looks like there are quite a few Century Dealers around that area. There's a dealer locator on the Century web site. Also, Bransons are Century twins, if you happen to have a Branson dealer nearby.

That tractor should do fine with a 72" mower. the only thing i would suggest is to SERIOUSLY consider the FEL now. will be much less expensive if in the package deal, and u can roll in into the financing.I personally feel i bought the fel with the tractor as the attachment! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I pull a 72" RFM with my Ford 1700, which is about 23 PTO hp.

It works just fine.

I've been looking at the newest CUTs, but haven't convinced myself that they are worth the asking price... so long as my old Ford is running well (it only has 1904 hours on it).

You can't go wrong with a Kubota. I'll just throw in my 2 cents - I just bought a Kioti DK35. Its a 35 HP tractor with 28.3 HP at PTO. It weighs in at about 3475 lbs, great for traction, and is 4WD. 8F, 8R gears, easy shift-on-the-fly. Mine has a front end loader with a 2425 lb weight capacity and R4 Industrials. Has hydraulics tap-ins on rear if you need them. One of easiest engines to maintain in terms of getting to the engine parts. Though parts have been rumored as hard to come by (and I don't doubt that has been the experience of some), the dealer I used has assured me that parts are not an issue, and that a parts pack is on its way to them from manufacturer, allowing them to have an assortment of parts in stock. But I haven't bought any parts yet, so I can't verify my experience there. Financing was 0% for 3 years. I got this tractor plus 72" finishing mower, plus tiller, plus FEL with 66" bucket, for $19,500. Two year bumper-to-bumper warranty, 3-year engine/powertrain (I believe). Kioti.com can give you more details. So far, its done everything I've asked of it. I have only 2 acres, mostly brush right now (I'll be landscaping much of it soon), but it cuts through the brush on my lot without any trouble.

Can't really go wrong with any of the 'big three' or even the red and orange runners up... pretty much any long lived name tractor is fine..

EVERYBODY needs a tractor! It is truly therapy that pays YOU over the long haul.

My recommendation on brand is go drive them all and enjoy doing it. Once you have you'll start to decide what you like and don't and suddenly it will all become clear as snot......well ok maybe it won't be crystal clear, but you will still find things you like and do not like so go with your gut and dealer you like.

Enjoy the journey /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
