mahindra 4500 2wd
ive posted about this before in more than one forum but nobody ever really heard of it. hear is the problem......... put it in gear go up a slight incline "i mean slight", push in the clutch and it dont roll back untill i pull it out of gear witch is very hard.......straight and level it dont creep fwd.....freeplay is good. straight and level its easy to shift. i have talked to the shop forman at the dealer a couple times about it and he imediatly goes into butt covering mode, his attitude tells me its going to cost me no matter what the problem is even though i still have 2 years warrenty left. this is the same guy that look at me like i was an a**hole for wanting a dry rotted cracked out rubber boot changed on my fel control lever on a brand new tractor, and i changed it myself i just wanted the part. i am afraid to pay to have my tractor hauled to this guy, its like i dont have a warrenty. but dont get me wrong, the problem is minor and i love my tractor and i like my dealer, i just dont trust his shop forman and he is the guy you deal with after the sale.

Quick question: I guess you mean take the 1/2/3/4 gearshift out of gear. Have you ever tried to move the H/L shifter to neutral and see what happens? Sometimes tolerances are so tight that just having it in L range can have an impact. After all, if you move the H/L into neutral, it doesn't matter what other gear its in...BobG in VA

i havent tried that, so if i shift the h/l into neutral first and then it comes out of gear easier then its probably ok?
thanks for the reply i havent thought of that.

It sounds like something is binding in the drivetrain in only certain conditions. I have a new 7520 and Ive been getting my questions answered pretty well by a Mahindra tech rep here on the East coast - - Dan Smith, 256-390 1460. He should be able to get you to the proper channel. The shop gets their money for the warrantee work from Mahindra, not you, but it has to be an authorized repair. Sounds like you qualify.

Yes, it should. However, I would call Dan Smith as well. For some reason, it sounds like the throw-out bearing may not be completely disengaged. BobG in VA
