No, I wouldn't call that OK. There's definitely something amiss with the behavior you describe. If you like the dealer, maybe talk to him, not the SM. He'll listen if he's worth his salt.

I would have thought you would have gotten excessive gear scrub when changing gears to go along with it.

ok,,,,i tried it today and pulled the h/l shifter into neutral and it was a little stickey and of course it rolled back,,,,,,and after it stops rolling and there is no load then either shifter will operate smoothly. on an incline, any incline enough to make it roll even a little, either shifter is sticky, witch ever one i move first and it then releases and rolls when ever i hit neutral on either shifter.

i will talk to him but i was hoping to get an idea of what could cause this, i work on airplanes and they dont have transmissions so im kinda at their mercy and i dont trust the guy that will be doing the troubleshooting.

oh yeah i also forgot to mention this is a garage kept overserviced tractor, it gets plenty of tlc.
