Need confirmation on the hose type of fitting

The bushing appears to increase from the hose fitting which could possibly be male JIC but it's likely NPT...

FWIW...The female swivel nut can be opened and the top of the hose end could be observed...the swivel nut is a mechanical joint that uses a chamfer seal...it can be opened and closed repeatedly without creating a leak...it's actually better in that regard over say JIC type flares where repeated or over tightening can damage female JIC flares...

Typicaly NPT hydraulic fittings seal prety well. There not like old crappy iron pipe. Also dont use teflon tape to seal the NPT loctite makes A pipe dope for this. Cant remember the number off hand.

I use LocTite 545 on NPT threads used for hydraulics. It works really well. Teflon pipe dope does not.
Regular 242 thead locker is not the same stuff. I did not have good results from NPT for hydraulics until someone here mentioned 545.

To me the threads in the pic look tapered. I think the fittings with chamfer seals use straight threads.

FWIW...
..National Pipe Straight Mechanical (NPSM)

The National Pipe Straight Mechnical (NPSM) female fitting has a straight thread and an inverted 30° seat. The male fitting has a straight thread and a 30° internal chamfer. The seal takes place by compression of the seat on the chamfer. The threads hold the connection mechanically. A properly chamfered NPTF male will also seal with the NPSM female. ...

Mechanical connections do not require any lubricant /sealant etc...

Also FWIW...NPT fittings are basically meant to be used once...the tapers meld under compression when the connection is tightened...to re-use the fitting the compression must be greater than the original seal...using a lubricant like Teflon tape or pipe dope helps reduce the friction and required torque to insure a leak proof seal...
If only the sealant is preventing a leak one or both of the connectors should be replaced...

That explains why they've put Teflon tape (Teflon tape???) only on those NPT connections that didn't have a chamfer seal, like the valve's ports and quick connects (female NPT).

Everything is bought and ready to be installed for next time I'm at the cottage. Hope it goes well 🤞 The only place I have a double fitting is between the new valve's P port (ORB 10F) and its QC (NPT 1/2F). The only ORB elbows that Princess Auto carrie are ORB Male and female for the other end so I bought a ORB10M-NPTF 1/2 (chamfered) and added a NTPM 1/2 nipple to connect both together. The only place I'll need Teflon paste (not tape) is at the QCs.

Sounds like you have it under control...

Just a head up on nipples...not all nipples have the mating (female) chamfer....some (especially stainless steel) have blunt ends that will not seal with the NPSM swivel fittings...

Thanks for mentioning this. I didn't know. I checked the nipple and it does look like it has a chamfer as seen in the image below.

I’m a princess auto shopper too, but if you find they don’t have something, these guys also have a pretty good selection in Canada.
I was able to get British Pipe thread adapters from them, among a bunch of other stuff I didn’t know I needed!

Thanks for the link. Although their inventory is large, I checked for a ORBM8 to NPT M 1/2 but came empty. They have all other types of M-M (edit: elbow) fitting types but not ORB-NTP. Odd, but there must be a reason...
