Tractorbynet.com has has more than 141,000 registered members. It seems like someone would have put up a first hand account of having been pulled over because of a scanner counting their money by now, if such scanners are in use by law enforcement.

I'll try to remember to punch this thread to the top through the weekend.
This thread makes me cry a little. As much as I distrust the government, giving them credit for tracking hondo's secretly is like believing pigs fly when we aren't watching.

In addition (the really sad part), I have been married for so long I have lost hope of ever having enough cash to be of interest to even the local strippers.

Best,

ed

We have a sub discussion going on in the thread titled

Guy uses fake check to steal Massey tractor...recognize him?

about whether law enforcement has scanners that read the denomination of bills inside people's cars, sometimes resulting in the money's confiscation and forfeiture. All of the reports of these incidents I remember were second hand information at best.

If anyone reading this has PERSONALLY been stopped by law enforcement because you were carrying a large amount of money that was detected by a scanner please describe your experience including how you know they used a scanner.

Note: I asked this question in a new thread because the subject isn't reflected in the title of the thread where the discussion is going on. I wanted anyone who might have been stopped because of a scanner to see it and respond.
Many thanks,
Stuck
You need to get the same covid shot and booster the police use. Their proprietary embedded booster microchips give them the abilities you are seeking.

no one can keep their mouths shut about that large of a project
I agree it seems nothing can be kept secret anymore. But a couple of notable exceptions being the Stingray surveillance devices, and Angel Fire persistent city surveillance. Although somewhat in public view now, each got lots of use by LEO's prior to public disclosure. More so by Stingray of course.

Stingray secrecy was maintained, and to some extent still is, by the Terms and Conditions imposed by Harris Corp on any LE agency that uses the product. Their contract required LE agencies to back down and withdraw criminal charges if any portion of the proceeding would divulge details on the Stingray device.

On that note, we all know that phone wire tapping has/had been going on for nearly a century. Why would any of us think that cell phone tapping would not follow, given the past history? That was expected.

I installed security cameras and video recording systems for my employer in the 80s. We had cameras looking out onto the street at all entrances as well as the internal cameras. That was expected as well. It was just a matter of time that widespread video surveillance would come.

I can't remember how old ours is. Gotta be similar.
In as much as I've never dissected them, I didn't know what was inside actually. I got all mine years ago from Massachusetts. The 'Mass Pass' transponders were free whereas the others you had to purchase.

What I really like - out West we have no toll roads. Lots of our roads have lumps and bumps but no tolls.
I don't mind paying a toll so long as the funds go toward road maintenance which appears to be the case on the Indiana toll road and the Ohio Turnpike.

ones with batteries can transmit. Those without need a hand held scanner. Kind of hard for someone to see how much cash you have. While driving…..not going to happen.
I think it could theoretically happen but the scanner you would need to drive through would probably look like the tunnels through downtown Atlanta. If there were RFIDs in the money.

Not 100% sure (I never had one), but I think they were free for a limited time here in N.H. when EzPass was first introduced.
We used to have tokens here that gave a 50% discount on tolls, when EzPass was introduced those were discontinued on rather short (only a couple weeks) notice. Not just discontinued as in sales, but the tollbooths were re-programmed to no longer accept them.
