Mace Canute;1 An old Stock Car racer trick with gauges is to orient them so that the needle points in one specific direction when everything is normal said:
Wow learned somehthng today I alwatys wondered why they looked crooked to me..Interesting. Makes sence

Huh?? Ok, I'm lost can you explain this statement?

think about it a bit and I bet it comes to ya.

and as for your above diatribe...

I said different application thus different specific purpose, though similar concept. And I have seen PLENTY of volt meters with MUCH MUCH lower input imp. ran acorss plenty that had 3 or 4 digits and the 4th digit nearly always rolled on the cheap meters with poor sampling characteristics.. saw some that even the 3rd digit would hunt.

the cleaner the power and the lower the rest of any other noise the better.. most of my units have dc gensets with nice noisy brushes, mechanical vibrating voltage regulators, and breaker contacts and spark gaps.. lots of them. a consumer grade digital meter is practically useless in those environments, btdt, got the lab grade and industrial grade equipment to handle it without have to put up with hunting digits.

I guess on a modern diesel that will be a moot point though.

I think I'm gonna go have fun working with my tractor instead of debating a 3rd party about working on a 4th parties tractor... :)

"50ah batter seperated by some ? low slew rate 24awg antennas?"

Think about what?? You have no idea what you're talking about. You couldn't find a cross in church!

It gave me a chance to go clean up my shop. I had tools strewn around for the last week or so with this rops project for my 75' ford 5000. got the rops on, wheels power adjusted out.. fenders on, topper on, seatbelts on ( last night ), and then made up a bracket to hold the tool box that used to mount to the fender.. but rops blocks that now, so I used the trans bellhousing and mounted the box there like the later X610S models do. works great. Just torched some spare angle iron, then buzzed it up quick and dirty.. turned out great. rear stabilizer chains are back on, and the fender work lmap and blinker is hooked back up. as far as I can tell.. she's back ready to work.. just a bit safer now.
