Need Help Deciding Between Kubota BX23S and LS MT125

and the fact that I have a 6 year warranty and a dealer a mile away that is offering free delivery and pickup for any service work.

Is that worth the extra $2K though? Would you reasonably expect to have that much service work done in six years? If you have a truck and trailer (I don't), hauling it to a dealer a bit father away wouldn't really matter much.

Are all other things equal as far as financing, etc.?

Is K the one that forces their insurance plan on you at extra cost?

I have bought 3 K's, no, they don't force you to buy their insurance. You have been on TBN long enough to know that.

As stated in my original post, the difference is $4600 when comparing apples to apples per se. I don't expect to have any service needs on the K if it is anything like the BX25 I used to have. I'm not sure how it would be on the LS though.

This morning, I talked to another Kubota Dealer in CO (about 200 miles away). The salesman was friendly and accepted my offers without countering them. I' got him down 1K lower than my best offer on the K to date. Also, since it is out of state there would be no sales tax and he will deliver with no charge. That's another 1.2K. So, right now the difference has come down to about $2400 more for the 'K' or $2400 less for the 'LS'. This has me leaning to the 'K' now since the difference in $$ is closer.

Also, On the financing all things are equal if 0% at 60 months. If 72 or 84 months Kubota has LS beat with 1.99% vs 5.99 respectively.

Lastly, if financing with Kubota, then I believe Kubota will add the KTAC insurance on top for the duration as long as there is a balance. They have really good insurance coverage.

Welcome RomeK2. I also live in NM and have an MT125 TLB. Now for about a year and a half, about 150 hours on the clock. Great little machine, has done everything I wanted it to do.

...If your close by, I would be willing to show you the tractor in person. I have also considered selling my MT to get a much larger tractor for another property.

Overall, I am exceptionally pleased with my LS tractor, would I buy another? YES!

LS mt125, Thank you for showing me your tractor today. I enjoyed meeting you and we probably could have talked all day. I am glad you were only less than an hour away. It sure helped a lot to be a able to check it out in advance. It's a very nice tractor and like I said it is very similar to the BX25 I used to have and is similar to the BX23S I am thinking of buying. I don't think I can go wrong with either tractor. If you do decide to get a much larger tractor, I suggest you just keep the little one also. You can start to build your harem of tractors like some lucky guys on here!

Diggin it has been a member for a month. So, maybe not long enough... no offense. I am not one to bash brand but I will say I have had lots of success and little to no issues with my K's and D's. I don't have a history with LS. They could be the cat's meow but orange and green have a track record, a solid dealer/maintenance record and that is worth a few large bills to me. I expect them to be around longer than me.

Thought he had been on longer, but in any case, the insurance issue has been discussed so many times. It came across wrong. I'm guessing any tractor mfr you buy from will require insurance if you take out a loan. If you dont finance, none of them will require it. And none will include ins as part of the purchase price.

I have never had KTAC, but it sounds like good coverage. I also dont care what the OP buys, just dont misrepresent things..

Hey, RomeK2, I can certainly understand your regret at selling your 2008 BX25. I bought the exaxt same tractor in the same year (when they first upgraded the line from the BX24 to the BX25), and never looked back. Sure, It would be nice to have a bigger tractor now that I have an additional 25 acres, but the upscale in size would cost me more in price difference than I originally paid for my BX25!

Regarding the new BX23s, it has a whole bunch of really cool new features over the BX25, but I, too dislike the reduced FEL lift capacity that the front QA mechanism causes. The FEL lift capacity of my BX25 is perhaps its weakest point, and I would not want to see it lowered any further. Also, check out the PTO HP of the LS - the BX only has 17.5, and a lot of rear PTO implements seem to require at least 20. (My rear snow blower, however, works just fine.)

Good luck with your purchase, and do keep us posted! (Remember, TBNers get a big kick out of seeing others buy new tractors - vicarious satisfaction and all that)

Given LS mt125 lives in the same state as you and mentioned that NM requires you to pay tax on out of state purchases (as does Vermont) I'm not sure I would be posting the fact that you intend to get into tax evasion.

ETA - It was not LS mt125 who mentioned sales tax for out of state purchases.

All of the tractors I am looking at are either in AZ or CO except for one Kubota dealer that is in Albuquerque NM (my State). New Mexico has a Gross Receipt Tax (Not a Sales Tax) that I would have to pay on the dealer invoice if I were to buy in State. I will not be charged a sales tax if I buy from an out of State dealer. Either I am dealer charged or not dealer charged the tax. There is no evasion or intent thereof.
