I checked all the fuses, they all seem to be good. I'm sure my fuel is fine. It is "winter" diesel and has additive to boot. The engine does not turn over at all. And I checked the seat switch, it seems fine. You don't have to be on the tractor to start it. It was in 4wd but this never mattered before. It has been in 4wd since November. Must be a bad relay or something.
Just so everyone knows. My transmission seems to be fine now. They replaced the computer, some switches, and recalibrated everything. I think this problem is unrelated. Just one more problem to prove that this tractor is possesed or something.
Now for the good...
K.C. Canary is getting me a new tractor and giving me credit for my mower deck that does not fit properly. The terms of the deal or more than I would expect. They are doing right by me. I can't tell you all exactly what the deal is but I can tell you that Mark Brucker and K.C. Canary are a class act. They are handling my trade in house with the approval of the JD rep. I have been nothing but happy with Mark, Jason, and the rest from K.C. Canary. I was just unhappy with the particular tractor that I unfortunately ended up with. I don't think this one tractor is representative of all JD tractors. I got a lemon and they are taking care of me.
I guess that in the long run all this talk about what color tractor to get does not matter. In the end it's the dealership that you will be dealing with. I have been reading this board for 2 years before I made my purchase. I read the stories about problems with all makes of tractors. Alot of people have been hung out to dry by either the manufacturer or the dealers. I feel very lucky to have found K.C. Canary. They stand behind what they sell. They will go the extra mile to make their customers happy. They certainly did right by me.
I would suggest to anyone making a purchase on a tractor to give Mark Brucker a call at K.C. Canary. I cannot begin to tell you how satisfied I am with them. It is not just the tractor you are buying but also the dealer. If you live within 500 miles of K.C. Canary it's worth the drive to check them out no matter what color tractor you favor. You cannot go wrong with this salesman or delership.
I will send as many customers Mark's way as I can. I will also try to make all my future purchases at K.C. Canary first. The absolute bottom line on price does not matter. I will pay extra at K.C. Canary because of how they take care of me. (Their prices are very good anyways)
Thanks all for your help. I should get my new tractor soon.
