I currently on a RFM for my B7500 and I am considering a MMM for it. The RFM is ok in open areas but it's not the best in tight spots around the house because of the tail swing. My local dealer has a used one for 1200.00. A new one is about 2300.00 or so. I'm going to keep my RFM for now and sell it on my own since I probally won't get what I want for it anyway.
Please give me opinions about the MMM. (New)or (Used). Tell me how well they work. I'm trying to replace my riding mower. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don716,

Someone with a B7500 like you have can give specifics on how the MMM for that tractor performs...I can't because I don't have a 7500.

I had a RFM for my B2910 and for reasons like you stated I did not find it that great for my needs. It did a good job cutting, but I could not cut close or around things that I wanted to cut close or around. So I got rid of it and got a MMM.

The trouble [actually pleasure] is that I also bought a BX to power the MMM. So I am using a 60" mmm on a BX2200 for grass cutting. Now had I bought a MMM when I got my B2910, I might still only have one tractor.

For my needs there is no comparison. The MMM wins by a long shot. If I was doing all wide open space cutting, then the rfm would be just dandy. But I am not...also I erred and my rfm was onlt a 60" unit, and that did not give me enough sticking out beyond my tires to let me get close to anything. but my guess is that if my rfm had been a 72" I would still have ended up going with a MMM one way or another.

I don't miss the rfm at all and I would not consider another one for my needs. It all boils down to our individual needs...

Not sure if this helps...but it is my experience anyway... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I’ll second Bill’s comments on the MMM. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have MMM on my B2910. It does a great job. A used mower may be a good deal, especially if your dealer will give you some kind of guarantee after installing it on your tractor.

The MMM I'm looking at right now is already on a tractor so I can listen to it run and check it out before I buy it.
Thanks for the replies and maybe I will see more before the weekend. That's when I'm going to look at it. I'm really leanning toward the MMM if it's in good condition.I figure that if I have a MMM under the belly I will have room on the back for a box blade.

Don716, I thought that's what a wife & kids were for ?My wife likes to get out of the house in the nice weather and she does all the trim mowing with the push mower /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif, have I got it good or what? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif... But I am a fan of the rfm myself for ease of pm vs. closer trimming but remember you won't be able to trim under lower hanging foliage with a mmm like you can back under it with rfm : peace /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gifit's all good

I fixed the lower limbs a few months ago.I trimmed them up pretty high and it looks better. There will be a few I will have to work with but most will be a breeze.I still have a riding mower and a push mower if I need to go that route.

Well, I went to look at the MMM today and found out that it would not fit.It came off a B7300 and the seriel # doesn't match up with the capability chart. I guess I'm back to hunting for one again. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
