I came across a hydraulic log splitter in my Dad's barn that he used to use on a Ford tractor where he could take the rear remote lever near the drivers seat and push it forward and then sideways into a notch which held the lever in the open position. Then the log splitter could be controlled at the splitter by way of the splitters lever. I have a NH 4.75 and there is no notch for my rear remote lever to keep it open. Can I use this log splitter on my tractor by holding the lever forward or back with a bungee chord or will this ruin something internal to the hydraulic system?
I hope my explanation makes some sense! Thanks...

I do not have a 3PH log splitter but have read TBN posts that folks did exactly that by using a bungee cord or similar tied to something from the valve handle to keep it open.

That is how you do it with a spring to center valve.

You have to bungee the lever open so the log splitter valve can operate the log splitter.

You could add a solenoid 3rd function valve and just flip a switch.
