Got a problem with our 2240,( SN 378022L ) here's the skinny.
We had it apart last year and the mechanic put in a new pto clutch pack. has worked fine since. Today they went out to roto till with it, and the pto spun up but as soon as it goes under load, the pto stops.
We still have the owners manual, but the mechanic had the service manual, and is no longer here ( go figure ).
Is there an I&T service manual for the 2240?
I'm trying to find assy / dis-assy. instructions for the PTO. Also, this unit has the independent pto, and was told by a dealer that it may not be the clutch pack is bad, but that it isn't getting sufficient hyd pressure to engage.
The local dealer can get me a service manual in a few days.. but if I can get my hands on an I&T or some exploded diagrams, our new mechanic is going to tear it down today. We've got work backing up waiting on the tractor.
I guess I should mention that our local JD dealer is a heavy equipment dealer, and doesn't even stock the jd farm tractor line.. nor does he even keep filters, etc for them in stock.. everything is order only...his parts people arn't overly helpfull when you walk in and want parts for a farm tractor.. they would rather wait on the heavy equip. people... So I'm more or less on my own here.
Any help or info is appreciated.
