Does anyone know if the PTO Drive shaft is supposed to come as part of the BX2751 Quick Attach Assembly for a BX22/23 ? Long story short, I had my dealer install the BX2751 about a year ago on my BX22 when it was in for service. Since the CFO was watching, I cound't purchase any actual implements to mount to it, so I just removed it and set it aside. I don't remember a drive shaft being with the hitch when they returned the tractor.

I just purchased a used BX2537 rotary broom from a TBN member that came with all of the parts listed in the manual.

While I haven't had a chance to look in the BX2751 manual, I know I don't have what I need to make the broom work.

I guess I can go back to my dealer and ask about the missing parts, but other than having the courtesy of not laughing in my face, I'm not sure of what they can or will do.

Anybody have any suggestions? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The subframe parts book has 3 sections:
Subframe, Male Quick Hitch and Mid PTO kit.
It would seem that the Mid PTO kit would be part of the subframe, but when I got mine, the snowblower also came at the same time, so I'm not sure.
The Mid PTO kit is part #01004

Peter:

Thanks, I will talk to my salesman in the next few days and see what is supposed to be supplied as part of the assembly.

The mid PTO kit is a separate entity that doesn't come with the front quick attach. The reason for this is that some people don't have a need for the PTO option because they only use the quick hitch for a snow plow blade.

BX2752 PTO kit to drive it $425.00
BX2537 base machine $1325.00
(price 08/2004)

Now that I have answered your question, could you possibly post a few close up pictures of the front wheel assemblies on the rotary broom? My broom didn't come with them since they are also an accessory item. I am planning on manufacturing my own rather than buy the Kubota ones. Also, be careful using the broom on pavement that you don't wear down the bristles. A replacement bristle broom is over $600, plus labor to install it. I know of someone that purchased a broom and didn't read the instructions who wore the brush out in less than a week. He thought that the harder that you put it to the pavement the better it will sweep. To the contrary, the broom should have a light touch. I have owned a walk behind brooms for many years. Also, it is best to broom after a rain to keep the dust to a minimum... Junk..........

Junk:

Thank you. Not knowing that the mid-pto was a seperate item that didn't come with the broom, my great deal on the used broom doesn't seem so great now. Anyhow, my problem.

The digital camera is at the office. Early next week I will get some shots of the wheel assembly and PM them to you.

Thank for the help.

I paid $750 for a "used" broom that had was perfect in every way and appeared to be unused. The seller used it to try to clear snow for about 30 minutes and then bought a plow. The only defect that I could find is a 1" scratch on the paint, and I am not sure when or how that happened. Even the bristles had the square end cut indicating that it was next to new. As a reference for others, how much did you give for yours? I do know the wheel kit is about $225 + - .... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Junk:

I paid $1,100.00 with the wheel kit. The broom looks like it just came out of the crate. Seller said it had about 1 hour on it, and by the looks of it, I believe him. Said he bought the BX23 and within 15 hours realized he needed a larger machine. The person that bought the BX23 had no need for the broom.

At least with the wheel kit, I'm within $125.00 of what you paid.

PM me with your email address so I can send you the pictures you requested. I will be easier. I've never posted pictures on TBN and don't know the procedure.
