Need help with JD 62C deck

Need help! A customer has a J. D. X485 with 62C deck and wants a set of mower stands.
Can anyone measure with a pair of verniers the back anti-scalp wheel shaft (O.D.) And the I.D. of the tube that the shaft goes into.

The shaft measures .895 dia. and it looks like the ID of the tube is .950. I say looks, because my veneer battery was dead, and I had to use an outside mic to eyeball the ID. Why is a stand needed? The wheels work pretty well for me. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The back wheel shafts on my 62C deck measure .998/1.000 O.D. and the tubing measures 1.003/1.005 I.D. They are a pretty close fit. I tried to get a detail drawing on the JD web site, but it is not available for these parts.
Hope this helps. What did your customer give you for dimensions?

he said the shaft was 7/8" and the hole was 1" that's to much of a difference

Assuming my vision hasn't completely gone wrong /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif (a distinct possibility), or the mower deck you have is different than mine, my pin dia is definitely .895. (checked again tonight).

Interesting idea. Website could use some pizzaz (constructive criticism only). I know it sure would beat the shims and chain I used to hold my deck up!

Ken, Thanks again for the measurments. Maybe there is a differance between the 2210, 62C deck and the X485, 62C deck??

Are you sure you are measuring the round (O.D.) area of the pin? The pin has flats on it (where the crossed drilled holes are) so you do not want to measure in this area. If I measure in the flat area it does measure .895, but this is not the dimension that moweraxle is looking for.

MOWERAXLE,
To the best of my knowledge the 62C decks are the same for both tractors. My deck even came with tractor mounting instructions for both models. The mounting is a little different.

OK ! Everybody is right on the shaft size. Went to my J D dealer and the parts man said there are 2 sizes. Serial # up to 4000 are 1 size and serial # 4001 & up are a different size. He didn't have a shaft in stock so we don't know what size goes with what serial #. If someone with the 1" shaft would look at there serial # we could figure this mess out.
