Need help with John Deere 2520

We have a Deere 2520 tractor with mod mount mowing deck . Just bought a 200cX loader. We removed the loader to mow the lawn for the first time. We attached the hydraulics but we cannot lower the mowing deck to mow. Is there some sort of lock that is holding the mowing deck up to keep it from slipping when the loader is attached? Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Can't find any help in the manuals.

Is it independent lift or mechanical off the 3-point?

It's an independent lift. I think we figured it out. When we took the tractor to our local dealer to have the front end loader installed, they put the mowing deck in the highest position and turned the mowing height knob to the highest position possible. We have a problem with the mowing height knob jamming to begin with and when the dealer did the adjustment, the knob jammed and we could not get it to release by pulling up the knob and readjusting it. We ultimately had to prop up the mowing deck with some pieces of wood to take the pressure off. Once we did that, we were able to pull the knob up and readjust the mowing height. That allowed the hydraulics to raise and lower the deck. Sounds like an odd fix but it worked and we were able to mow the lawn.
