My answer would depend on your skill sets and avaliable tools... I can build my own canopy, or most recently a full cage 6 point ROPS/FOPS, so I would put it towards an extra hydraulic valve kit or filter/fluid stash. Loaded tires is high on my list, and wheel spacers if you have real hills like I do. I could help you spend that money several times over, but can't we all!

I would likely spend it on big ticket items, as fluid and filters can be bought as needed, 'nickel and dime' style, but having a stash is nice too... but I have a hard time saving back for big ticket items.

I like the idea of a new chainsaw, but you are thinking too small. Unless you only deal with tiny trees and twigs, a 362 or even better a 441 would be a real eye opener to you. You already have decent small-mid homeowner saws. You get one of these and you will go WOW. The difference is unreal, and since you have the smaller range covered...

That's a good chunk of money to work with. Use it on something a little outside your normal range. Spoil yerself :D

I would put it towards a bigger saw, like the 441 with a 30" bar. This way if you ever had to go big, you wouldn't have to go home.

The canopy idea is definitely in the running, however I checked prices on the build site and they list two options:"sunshade canopy" for $437 and "Deluxe fiberglass canopy and bracket" for a total of $578 . Any experinece out there in regard to the difference between the two?

I also noticed they have the "telescopic stabilizer kit" listing at $175. Thoughts there?

Telescoping stabilizers are a big help in hookup if you don't have/use some type of quick hitch. My canopy is all steel and I like it. I paid $198, when the tractor was purchased in 2012, but was told this was dealer price. I don't really know.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I have yet to decide, but I am leaning away from the canopy at this point. Considering where I live, I'm not sure the benefits are worth it. If I was down south, different ball game. The stabilizers are an interesting idea, but I have the Pat's and not sure of the added benefit they will bring. If they included telescopic arms, then I could see it.

I figured it was time for an update as I finally used the credit balance available from when I bought my tractor. The expiration deadline was fast approaching, so I pulled the trigger. I ended up getting a number of supplies for future use on my tractor and my dad's (oil filters, HST filters, Hydro filters, and fuel filters). The big ticket item was upgrading my Stihl FS 55 trimmer to the FS 130....the thing is a beast!! Plan to sell the FS 55 as it is still in great shape. Also added a hefty supply of the Ultra fuel mix...should last me awhile!

Thanks to all who provided ideas!

I have an FS130 ring handle, great machine. It's my go-to, prefer it over the FS110 bike bar handle, which our 15 y/o son prefers.

Wise choices on your expenditures.

I have a Stihl 130 D handle and was thinking of leaving the star blade on it and getting a Bike handle for a string trimmer. I like both that 4 mix 130 trimmer and my 4 mix Stihl 600 blower.
