In my garage I used one of these wire cubes mounted to the wall for all sorts of handled tools:
Amazon.com: Whitmor 6070-1723 4 Storage Cubes, Black: Home & Kitchen

I got the idea from noticing the way that mops and brooms are displayed at the grocery store. The holes are about 1-5/8", which works for straight handles, things like rakes, brooms, shovels, even things with two handles like loppers or clamshell post-hole diggers. Doesn't work for things with big or oddly shaped handles like spades or axes. The clips that hold it together are flimsy and need reinforcing with zip ties.

I think you could do the same thing on the ROPS. I think with a rack and a box with a lid you can carry almost anything, stuff that won't fit in either can ride in the bucket.

I often have an armload of tools when I'm using the chipper or the post-hole digger on the three-point so the idea of a carry-all isn't appealing.

Thanks for sharing. I have a display rack from a rental company show room, I think I'm going to cut a section out of it. Would be very easy to remove tools from it.
Thanks

I only want to carry rakes and shovels. Don't need extra ballast just a aching system for tools .

Just curious, besides carrying hand tools, what do you use your FEL for?

Almost anything you use the FEL for will be enhanced by rear ballast, and the upright pvc pipes gave us a ready place to put tools, shovels, rakes, etc.

We used to stick shovels and smaller tools in the cross tubes of the FEL, but even though none ever fell out, I always worried that they would.

I use the loader for landscaping. Any type of soil or aggregate. have looked at the idea of using something on the bucket but I decided that I would like something on the back. Think I have it figured out what I will do,when I get a chance.
