need info on choosing a rototiller

Thank you for buying King Kutter! The warranty issues have to go through the seller. In this case Orschelns. That is our agreement with them, and I will honor that. (Strictly my opinion, but free parts and $50 does sound fair to me, but again that's only my personal opinion) Also, when you replace those seals, put in 85w - 140 or even Triple Aught or pourable grease in the gearbox. That is what we are using now. It's good stuff.

About 5 years ago, I bought a KK 5 Point mower(6ft with a 60HP gear box and slip clutch and front guard chains) and I'm very happy with it including the superb paint job that's on it. It's painted a light brown color.
My local dealer says they will only buy the 5 Points because they are better made then the run of the mill KK mowers. This mower was $1000 cheaper than a competing Woods mower with a plastic front guard. I don't see the 5 Points on your web page but I think they are a great value and wonder why I never see them advertised?

5 Point is a private label that we put on our Professional line and sale through Wheatbelt member stores. The 5 Point brand is not advertised on our website b/c not just anybody can buy it. I feel it's a good line also. I'm glad you are happy with it. Thanks for buying King Kutter! I hope you will look to us again for your next purchase of 3-point equipment. Just so you know... Internally we call that color Carhartt brown b/c it reminds us of the Carhartt brown duck bib's and overall's. I really like the color.

Does King Kutter manufacture the tillers for TSC here in east Texas (Tyler)? If so, I'll be buying one here in a month or so....

I have a Bush Hog model 285 rotary cutter that I bought new alittle over a year ago. As we all know, the "Bush Hog name" is supposed to be as American as it can get. Well come to find out, (after I made the purchase), the gearbox on mine says MADE IN CHINA! The cutter hasn't gave me a problem, but I'm not at all happy about it. Kinda made me lose some respect for Bush Hog.

Your pictures got me wondering, so I just took a flashlight out and checked my Bush Hog RTC48 tiller.

No tag on the gearbox at all, the tag on the tiller itself says Made In Italy. There are no stampings on my gearbox either.

I think the Bush Hog tillers are manufactured by "Sicma" in Italy. They are supposed to be top-notch tillers, from what I understand.

We sell the Sicma equipment that is branded Phoenix and First Choice and that stuff is bullit proof and has features galore. Prices are very competitive aganist higher profile brands and same machines. Ken Sweet

I knew you were discussing rotary cutters, but the talk about bush hog gear boxes just got me wondering.

My RTC48 seems to be well built, and definitely the right size for a subcut.

I've only had the oppotunity to use it once, but I was impressed with what it did.:thumbsup:
