According to the owner's manual the 2 loaders
are nearly identical. Near as I can tell, the 450 is simply built a little heavier.
Specifically, the 450 loader itself is 105 pounds heavier than the 400, and the 450 bucket is 31 pounds heavier.
Presumably, this makes the 450 a little more rugged than the 400, but doesn't it also mean that the 450 has 136 pounds
less lift capacity?
I have the LB400 on my
L2500, and although I've only put 20 hours on it so far, I feel I've tested its ruggedness. While digging my culvert ditches I was lifting the tractor on the cutting edge of the bucket and then pushing it hard through my rock-laden soil. Numerous times I ran into to boulders which jarred the tractor to a halt, and the only signs of wear afterwards was on the paint.
From what I've read on this board, I could improve my digging capability by adding bucket teeth, but all in all I would say this "light duty" loader is more than up to any challenges that I am likely to throw at it.
You heard it from a newbie. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
