My advice is keep the fuel additives in the tank as the fuel around here tear up a truck. 7.3 trucks are like gold around here a 96 srw sold for $18000 at the dealer the other day. And old owner didnt even have it clean out yet. I will admit it looked good.
Sound guy you have a nice fleet of trucks and the new one looks real nice also.

old ones anyway.. both 99's :)

Using an aftermarket CPS is about the same as using an aftermarket GPR or GPs, you are ASKING for more trouble.

The Ford/IH parts are in fact, the best ones for your vehicle, but that does not mean perfect.

The difference in the "early" and "late" CPS is the terminal material and the maximum voltage they can tolerate. From memory, you can use a late CPS in any engine, but the early CPS will fail prematurely when used in a later engine.

There are a number of people that claim a difference in the CPS for the DTs over the 7.3L but the core pickups are both in the same location - centered in the sensor body, so despite appearances the timing on both is essentially the same.

hopefully I won't need it anyway.. just getting it as insurance.

When I was younger I didn't mind laying under my truck ont he side of the road fixing things. the older I get.. the less attractive , being broke down somewhere and fixing it to get home , is becomming.. :)

still.. at the small price differential from aftermarket to the oem's.. it was worth a good one IMHO.

got the 10mm wrench and box taped together.. don't even have to futz with the tool box.. :)

thanks for the help, ideas, and discussion guys!

With electrical parts, I WILL NOT use anything but OEM and even then NEVER a "rebuilt" part. The total lack of caring in regard to quality of aftermarket electrical parts is just apalling to me.
