I belive you need a Group 51R battery for your application.Sounds like it's old enough to need a new one.I belive Interstate batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls-excellent product. You won't find optional CCA ratings in this group size.

number two, was not happy with 410 CCA so i called NAPA they had one listed at 450 CCA but 2 diffentent shops did not have one so i went to INTERSTAE distributor and they did not have the one listed on the web site but another one listed at a whopping 33O CCA made in tiawan, then they came up with one that was actually listed as a car battery made by interstate the exact same physical size, and a very respectalbe 550 CCA so i bought that one. 75 mo warrenty as compared to 48 mo on the other.

Frank-thanks for the feedback.I had B1750 Kubota and now a B3030HSDC-same battery.Glad you got the battery you needed.Could you please provide the Group number or the part number of the battery you bought? My local starer/alternator rebuilder I've used for19 years sells Interstate batteries. He told me a few years ago they derate their batterys by 100 amps or so-I've had excellent results using their products.

Frank in my experience with using automotive batteries in tractors, I've found they don't last as long, I don't know if its because of all the rough ground and bumping they get but over the years I found that I get almost twice the service time with a battery designed for the tractor.

I believe Optima Batteries also make these in that model series
I have one in my 84 Celica that only gets run ocasionally and it has done it all for 3 yrs
They are not cheap but you get what you pay for in the long run
When my Bx 1830 finnaly needs a new battery it wll be an Optima

Toadhill , you may e right but i can't see what bouncing aroud should be a problem as it is secure . But if it last 5 years i will be happy.

BTW i still covet your CLETRAC as it brings me back to the day we had one on the farm. Post a pic if you get a chance

Number two, i checked the sale ticket and it showed as a MT-51R BUT I WENT OVER TO THE TRACTOR AND THE LABLE said mt-5r @ 500 CCA 629 CA . I would take the old battery with me to mke sure it is the right physical size.
