Yanmar 187D Terramite T5C Bush Hog D4-10
Hey guys, I bought a fel this weekend and now trying to put together all the info I can on it. Looking at a picture this morning, I now believe they were put on a 180D (and sure others)....I am looking for model number, manufacturer, specs (length of some parts- the front part of the frame has been cut/changed and want to know what it was orginally), etc...

From all I can gather....we thought this was for a 25-30 hp tractor...but after seeing it on the 180D this morning....I am thinking it could have been on a smaller tractor.......

I have posted pics...I thought the bucket (measures 53 inches) was put on later ...but the picture I saw this morning looked to have the same bucket ....anybody that has the set up and is willing to send pics and measure a few things for me would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scott

With the exception of the upper crossmember that has the two steel plates welded below it (2nd picture), it looks just like the Yanmar YFL 800 on my 226d. Mine has neither the steel plates nor the upper crossmember on it. The lower crossmember has 4 steel hydraulic lines on it that run up the left loader arm (looking at it from the front). I have a 48" bucket on mine. The curl cylinders are 40" on center. I'd suspect it is a more heavy duty version of the YFL 800.

FWIW,

Keith

Kevin any chance you could give me a few measurements......

1) my spacing between the two main frames on top is 37"....actullay 37 " in front and about 36" in back......

2) the lower brackets on mine have been changed....moved...I am wondering what it should look like...and trying to figure if the length of the arms were cut....I will attach a picture of what I am talking about....tip to tip (front to back) how long are these lower arms??

Does your bucket look like this one?? top is curved back with a "lip"......

I am thinking this could go on several size yanmars....just trying to figure out which ones those are.

Also anyone who has a picture of who it attached to the frame (front and back) would be appreciative.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Scott

For the record you beat me to this loader by 10 minutes! lol I called while he was talking to someone about it (you I see) I had dibs on it if you passed on it. anyway if you see it won't work for your model I would be interested in buying.

Smoody,

Will be glad to contact you if I decide not to pursue it further!

Yea...I missed another one locally 3 weeks ago.....40 miles from my house!!! And alot cheaper......had to drive alot farther for this one!

This one needs some work....I am probably going to have to repack 2 of the cylinders....saw they were leaking.......a few thinks welded that should not have been....pretty big bucket....53" ......but it looks really solid. Probably would go up to a 30hp without any problem....

My understanding is that these FEL's were added on in the USA and were probably relabeled as "yanmar fel's".....at this point I have found 2 now that look like mine and both came off yanmars built for the usa market....

I am going to get an education on this one....I want to do most of the work so I can learn how it all works......this is a new endeavor for me.....once it is completed...either going to buy a tractor to put it on and sell it as a package or just sell it by itself repaired.... will let you know if and when I do it....

I am afraid before it is all said and done....I will have more time and money in it than it is worth.....but that is part of the game....getting it done and still keeping it with in the markets value.

What ever I do to it...will try to document most of it for others to see.....I appreciate all those who have done other projects and put them on this site for others to learn from......I have learned alot that way!

Scott,

Mine is also 37 in the front. 36 1/4 in the back. There is some wiggle room there. Mine is as wide as it can get in the back.

The lower arms...well, couldn't figure out a good way to measure it. So, from the center of the bucket pivot bolt to the center of the upper cylinder bolt is 35 1/2 inches. If the lower arms were cut/changed, yours should not be the same.

OK, I see that I measured the wrong thing. That U shaped arm is 38 1/2 inches back to front. 39 1/4 if you add in the front bracket that it is welded to.

My bucket looks pretty much the same except I have some pipes that were welded on there at some point in time (for a grapple maybe).

Hope this helps,

Keith

Keith,

Thanks!!!! This is exactly what I needed....now just need to compare the measurements.....good news from the picture is that most of everything seems to be there to work with.

Yea....I think I noticed you have the bolt holes on the side(ends) of the bucket like mine.....wonder what that was for??

Now what models does this loader fit on is the next question....

Again thanks for taking the time...hopefully I can repay the favor down the way.....

Scott,

Glad to help.

I think you mistook dirt for bolt holes on the bucket. Mine doesn't have any.

As far as what it fits, isn't that dependent on the lower mount (that's in your bucket)? I can't guarantee that the bottom mounts are the same. I do know that this one is on a US model YM226D.

Yea....I looked at the pictures after I sent the response and saw you did not have the bolt holes.....there are holes on the sides, tops and even in the bottom of the bucket.....but it is the same style bucket so must be original.

Nice original 226 with the "factory" bucket you have there! I am a purist...I like things to be original...goes back to my buying and selling small motorcyles....I use to collect early 70's minicyles...always tried to find original pieces ....carries over to these tractors....that being said my yanmar has a bushog fel.....not a deal breaker....just like original equipment when I can find it.

Noticed your FEL was made in Canada......

Again thanks for your effort!

Thanks for the compliment. That 226 does everything I ask it to...but it isn't completely original. When I got it, the PTO was not working. Danny, from Parker Equipment, bent over backwards trying to find a 53 tooth gear to go in it but when there isn't one to be had, you just can't get one. Anyway, I replace the entire PTO with one from a JD750. It bolted right in but the input shaft was 1/4" too long. My angle grinder took care of that.

Noticed your FEL was made in Canada......

That supports what others have said about Yanmar not actually making the loaders.

Again thanks for your effort!

I'm glad to be able to help for once. I don't know a lot about tractors so it's rare that I can contribute.
