I have been told that the installation instructions for the radio and headliner removal are in the Manual that comes with the tractor. I have read the one online looking for it, and I have not found it. Anyone know where it might be had...

False....It comes with the Kit...seperate 10 or so page booklet outlining installation...Every one of my accessory kits has come with the installation manual. Heck even the Skid Steer carrier came with one and I would have thought its "common sense" as how to install it...

Thanks! My tractor is in, but the loader has not showed yet... So I am a little excited and ready to dive into a few projects.

Thanks for your help.

The technical manual has the instructions to remover the headliner, and the wiring harness for the radio. But it does not have the explicit instructions for the radio install. However, for an after-market head unit installation, one can derive the procedure using the tech Manual info and insttructions for the after-market radio. And the step by step posted on the Deere forum! great pics and info there.:)

Are you buying the Radio Mount Kit or you parting it together yourself? IF you get the kit, it will have the instructions...
You would think they would supply all installation instructions with the tech manual...but they dont...From what I saw when they installed my radio, its fairly straightfoward...headliner is factory marked where to cut it...etc...

I am buying the radio mount kit. I have bought some different speakers, and with some of the ideas that Nuru has given me, I am working on some additional speakers. I guess I am just a little excited to get it and get the radio in.:D

I was going to wait til august 1st to pick it up... but i just might go up this saturday if they get the loader in. I will not get to take care of the deal with the owner directly, but I think it will work out. If not, it will be next friday...

nmu98, actually, let me a bit more clear, underneath the console when you remove it, there are a couple of extra connectors. One is for the beacon switch, the other I don't know what that is for? There is a similar connector that sticks out beneath the seat. I will take pics of the one on the floor neatr tyhe east tomorrow, and post. I hope it is still there! LOL!

No diverter switch, or Front PTO.

I also plan to remove the shattered lower window and replace it, could not find the instructions so I am going to take a go at it as it does not look like it is too tough of a job to get done.

Sorry, I guess i went about answering your question from the top. I figured the only way to know what might lay benieth is to find out what Deere might have up top. So my guess was that some of the connectors might be for some of the factory switches you do not have?

Oh, yes, I was looking at that too, but I ended up scratching my head I was thinking that maybe the extra connecto4rs were for the back-up alarm? But since I have a TM, maybe i should spen a little time and review it! LOL!

Did you get the factory harness? If so, that doesnt sound right...Mine plugged right in with no splicing of the factory harness at all (used the Adaptor Plug to adapt from Deere Harness to Kenwood) and everything works fine..its got power all the time, etc..

Hi Dave

Looking at doing the same thing with the radio in my cab. (used the Adaptor Plug to adapt from Deere Harness to Kenwood). Where did you get the adaptor plug? Was it included in the radio purchase or did it come with the JD factory wiring kit?

Thanks

You need to purchase it from a radio store. BUT, it is much easier to just cut the plug and connect it yourself. You would need to coonect the 2 plugs together anyway.

Then you can do some more custom ideas like mute on a switch or custom illumination.:D
