Need something to glue my tennis shoes

My tennis shoes again have started to "delaminate" by separating the rubber toe from the leather shoe. In the old days I would use a contact cement called "Barge Cement" to glue things back together. You would coat each piece, let them dry and then press (smack hard) together. Would be tighter than bark to a tree.
So it's no longer the old days and my good quality sneakers have started to peel a bit after lots of hard use. What new product would I use?
Have thought about automotive weatherstrip adhesive and similar since it would need to be a contact type product. I mean, they were glurd together to start with and it held for a year or two. I don't know where to begin.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Shoe Goo also works to hold a John Deere seat cushion/cover to the seat pan It has held my lawn mower seat together for the last four years, good stuff.

It's kinda funny, but TBN seems to have the answers to almost anything.

I've used the polyurethane glue- Gorilla Glue -to fix one of my motorcycle boots that was delaminating at the toe. Not the boots fault, a quick dab to the pavement at speed in a hairpin turn that dang near wrenched my foot off caused it
