My tennis shoes again have started to "delaminate" by separating the rubber toe from the leather shoe. In the old days I would use a contact cement called "Barge Cement" to glue things back together. You would coat each piece, let them dry and then press (smack hard) together. Would be tighter than bark to a tree.
So it's no longer the old days and my good quality sneakers have started to peel a bit after lots of hard use. What new product would I use?
Have thought about automotive weatherstrip adhesive and similar since it would need to be a contact type product. I mean, they were glurd together to start with and it held for a year or two. I don't know where to begin.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Thank you all very much.
I knew this would be the right place to ask.

I've used the polyurethane glue- Gorilla Glue -to fix one of my motorcycle boots that was delaminating at the toe. Not the boots fault, a quick dab to the pavement at speed in a hairpin turn that dang near wrenched my foot off caused it:cool:
