Need thoughts and oppinions

I have been trying to decide between these two tractors.....Locally there is a 2005 4220 branson with 170 hrs, ag tires, and FEL on it. good condition.for $14000.00............Or about an hr away a dealer has a 4720 demo with new warranty 22 hrs. ag tires and FEL for 18,900.00.........Does the price difference out weigh the lack of warranty/hr/hp difference?

If the older tractor has been maintained well with no signs of abuse I would probably save myself the 4900.00
With that being said some depends on how much and for what you are going to use the tractor...does the horsepower difference matter probably not. It depends too on how much you are going to use it. Is it daily or just a few hrs per week?
There are alot of things to consider depending on use.

Split the diffrence and offer that to the dealer with the new one..... Never know till ya try..
Demo = used in my book....

I would probably only need it a few hours a week, and no I don't think the extra hp is a big deal. The dealer said the 4720 new is around $22,000, he didn't seem like he would move much on price, but yes it would be worth a try to make an offer for less.....The 4220 looks like it's been taken care of. The owner said it was mostly used for bush hogging

Chances are that the 05 has had all of the problems, if any, fixed. However, firemen122 has a wonderful point, and I would pursue that first. Additionally, I do not believe there are many people in this economy willing to spend $14-18k for a tractor they don't really need, so you probably have allot of bargaining power on your side, so start your offer low and work up.

Well Yes,but not a branson, I ended up taking advantage of Kioti's free loader program. I am getting a DK40se from wallace tractor. It should be here in a week or so!! I like branson, but I felt Kioti's quality was just as good and it was cheaper too!!

I test drove a dk40SE - and it was pretty nice - enjoy!
good to hear you're helping Wallace with his "bailout problems"...

for the record - if the dealer on the demo was close enough to be of good use for any problems, I'd have suggested seeing how low he would go, but $14k for the '05 was not a bad price - and if the dealer was more than an hour away, it would have been worth the $5k difference.

Great choice, obviously I'm biased. Be sure to attend wallace's cookout this year. Great time had by all and a great opportunity to get those implements you'll need now that you have a great tractor to hook them all up to.
