Need tire suggestions for wifes car.

I have a set of Firestone Weathergrips on my 2017 Subaru Legacy and am happy with them so far. Moderately priced and they are the best tire I've used in snow (never had dedicated snow tires before). I've had them on my car for 13,000 miles so far and they seem to be wearing well.

I have Arctic Claws on my Jeep and it goes anywhere. Of course, it's a Jeep so it'd better!

A couple of factors here that haven't been mentioned is what are the OP's wife's winter driving abilities, and what kind of snow do you get? Wet, "heart attack" snow is a lot harder to deal with than powder.
Another factor here is that it's a sedan, probably without much ground clearance. I've found that makes a big difference too. Heavy wet snow tends to build up underneath and that'll stop you for sure!

I have the Pirelli Scorpions on my MKX and I’m hoping they are the source of some road noise. They are ready to replace so I was thinking of using the Michelin Defender I have on 2 other vehicles.

Which Continental do you recommend? I don’t have snow very often at all. I don’t “need” a 90k tire, I may only keep this vehicle for a couple more years. I like a quiet comfortable ride and a tire that stops well because there is one thing I know, I don’t particularly care for accidents lol
