You dang straight partner!

If soil conditions test for needing topsoil, add it before clean-up of sticks rocks roots etc., plant and roll grass seed, cover with straw, and water regularly for a couple of weeks. Mow lawn for eternity...

I plan to use this area when completed as a potential pasture or pasture/orchard combo (wife...-don't ask) so I am hoping not to have to mow much, maybe brush hog. However, I will definitely plant some grass or something in the area as previously stated to help prevent erosion.

side note, this forum is amazing. there are some knowledgeable people out there. saving me time and probably money! you guys rock

A box blade with rippers should do the job easily. Back up until the rippers are over the "hump" - drop and rip thru the hump. This will loosen the hump and partially drag the hump into the valley. Finish moving the dirt with the box blade.

To me that would be the easiest.

Use your loader. It can dig!

Start on the uphill side and push down in straight cuts. Go back as far as you think is necessary to make a slope you like.

You have perfect layout to push downhill and practice using the loader. Enjoy!

As EGON says and to make that really work out well add a good TOOTH BAR onto your FEL.
You will actually be able to bulldoze as you push downhill, and dig from the bottom.

And I'll add that at $200 or so it is much cheaper than any other implement.
Be sure to get one that uses 'ears' to bolt to the sides of the bucket as that also stiffens the cutting edge.

Amen. A Piranha Tooth Bar would make quick work of it! So happy I put one on mine. Turns your bucket into a digger!

Add to Egon: put a tooth bar on the FEL. Triples the efficiency of digging.

Alright! It isn't done but it is about 80% there. I went ahead and took the initial suggestions on backing up the box blade and slowly ripping it up. This was my FIRST EVER project using the tractor and ANY attachment. I am pretty proud of the way it turned out! Let me know what you think! Thanks A TON for all of the great suggestions and support. This site is awesome. Before and After Pics attached IMG_0095.jpgIMG_0096.jpgIMG_0106.jpgIMG_0104.jpg

You are doing great. Things look good - its leveling out nicely and you haven't hurt yourself or rolled the tractor. Good job on your first project.

Good work so far. I'd closely inspect the big tree at the property/fence corner. Can't see it well enough, but it looks to be greatly imbalanced with all leaders going in toward property - maybe due to overhead power lines? Look for rot in the crotches and any insect damage. Cut out whatever is bad or lighten the lean by removing one or more leaders. JMHO, as a former tree surgeon....
