Did you have a thread here on it?
Did you rent or buy the lift?
thanks.
I have plywood (OSB)under my metal roof and never had any moisture issues before or after I installed the fiberglass bat insulation. I don't know how well it would work for metal roof attached indirectly to the rafters which sounds like what the OP might have if he has 72 db from rainfall. If you put bats of fiberglass insulation between your rafters, but sure to do something about the moisture that will form under the metal. You do not want the insulation trapping or holding moisture. Black mold will love it!!!!
I once dismantled a tin roof that had been laid over OSB that was a mere 8 years old.
Due to moisture or condensation the tin was completely rotted out.
You need air circulation under a metal roof as the metal sweats from moist air.
I had a shed with tin roof and come spring with warmer air and cold snow piled on the roof it literally rained inside (and that was not leaks).
Perhaps in a worm southern climate this might not be a problem but sure is 'up north'.
one of the times i enjoy is hanging out in the barn with metal roof and hearing it rain. barn doors open and watching it fall off the roof.
