Why not use something like a Nanostation5? I did nearly the same thing as you want to do. Cost about 120 bucks for two and took about an hour to install. No digging, works like a charm. You need a clear line of sight, though.

My handyman has my middle buster right now to lay that black poly pipe with. I think he took the bigger plow off and put a sub-soiler point on in it's place. As long as you had a spool so the cable doesn't bind up, it should be an easy job.

This is okay for some applications, but having used DDWRT before, there are certainly some down-sides. I don't know about you, but I had to reboot my DDWRT every now and then. And the directional antennas on the radios extend range significantly over a typical router. For the most part, these bridges are set-it-and-forget-it, but they sure do cost a bit more than an old router that you had sitting around anyway.

I have to unplug the router after a power outage and a few times throughout the week. I thought it was the router but I guess it is the firmware. I have been wanting to upgrade the router anyway, maybe I should do it sooner. I have also been thinking about changing my ISP.
