Hmmmmm. I would use alot of caution. There are a couple guys around here that constantly have tractors and implements for sale on CL...... kind of 'back yard' tractor dealers. It's certainly good that the gentleman you paid to inspect it gave it a passing grade, but I would specifically ask if the tractor was a rental. I'd also ask the guy who inspected it for you if he thought it was a rental. Point being....... if I were buying a tractor that was a rental, it would have to be a smokin' deal, not a 'good' or an 'average' deal. Rentals are ridden hard and put away wet...... and some touch up paint can disguise alot. Awhile back another member in this area was looking at a used tractor at one of these back yard tractor dealers, and they specifically lied and told him it had not been a rental, when in fact they had bought it from a rental yard in Massachusetts and were re-selling it for profit. Nothing wrong with making a profit..... but definitely something wrong with lying to people to make a quick buck. Personally, I'd feel more confident in a tractor that I were buying from it's original owner who used it around his own home. If it were me....... I'd be patient, consider the experience a lesson, and move on.
