Need utility Side by Side

/ Need utility Side by Side #51
Hello all,

So, I really could use a utility side by side for around my 8 acres. Mainly for fence repair, general maintenance, irrigation repairs and target setting out to my 200 yard range. And of course some trail riding while camping. I am looking at five different machines. Most are three seaters. No need for a six seater. Here they are not listed in any particular order;

1 CFMoto UForce U10 Pro
2 Kawasaki Ridge/Ranch Edition
3 Polaris Range 1000
4 Honda Pioneer 1000-5
5 Can Am Defender X MR

I know there are others on the market. I was really interested in a Massimo T-Boss 1000, but they are not available in Kalifornia. My main focus here is ease of service, riding comfort and durability. So, if you happen to have one of these machines, can you kindly chime in as to what you do and don't like about it. I have ridden in a Honda Pioneer before and it was a great machine. I kicked the tires on a Kawasaki Ridge and it looks like a great machine, but getting to the air filter looks like a pain in the rear. I have yet to sit in any of the other three. Mainly because there are none on dealer floors in the Stockton area. I really want to look at the CFMoto. A Tracy dealer is expecting some in early May.

Ok, thanks guys/gals. B.
Make sure and get one with power Steering. I have a Polaris Ranger 900xp. I have had several Polaris's. I bought and sold used ones. That would be my choice. Be careful of the Chinese ones because of parts availability. Hondas tend to be more expensive for parts but I think they make a good machine. I don't know how hard they are to work on. If your property is hilly you may want to put a brake line lock on it because parking on a incline is hard to get out of park because the incline puts a bind on the transmission.

62 acres here. I went from a Ranger 1000 open cab to the Kioti K9 open cab and then to a Kioti K9 cab model. So far it has been a nice work vehicle. Great heat and air conditioning and pretty fuel efficient with a small 24 hp diesel. Not the fanciest inside, and not as peppy and fast as a gas unit, but great for farm work.

I would not rule out a Can Am Commander. Good all around machine with a dump bed. I believe the Defender has a fixed bed. I have a Commander 1000 XT and use the heck out of it around the property and trail riding.

I just sold my Honda Pioneer after owning it for 11 years (bought new in 2014). There are not many UTV's that can work in all conditions like the Honda primarily because of the shaft drive, no belts to worry about or fuss with, and as dependable as you can get.
Because our usage has changed from work to pleasure with our UTV we bought a 2025 Polaris Ranger XP1000 Northstar Premium for its comfort features.
I looked at the CF Moto and it they seem like a great value for the money but I also saw a lot of almost new used ones for sale locally and being traded in for other brands ans that made me wonder why new machines aren't being kept.

I bought a new Polaris Ranger 1000 6-seat model in 2022. At additional cost I added power steering, rear window and larger wheels/tires for additional ground clearance. I’m in Tennessee and it’s hilly and rocky on some of my land. It’s only used on our property for chores such as yard work or carrying tools for wood cutting, fencing, animal feed or firewood. We have 45 acres. It’s also used for riding around the grandkids. Overall I’m satisfied with it but it doesn’t have an emergency brake which I’d like to have with kids around especially on slopes and hills. And if you park it downhill it’s difficult to get out of park and into gear. Polaris says that’s normal since there’s no emergency brake to relieve stress off of the transmission. Polaris says it’s a common complaint. It’s a problem for me.

My recently new neighbor from California bought a new CF Moto. He frequently rides our property with me on his CF Moto so it’s a fair and equal comparison. Both older guys riding them easy but using them for work. His machine came with power steering, split front windshield, rear glass, radio/speakers, and the larger tires/wheels for $2K less than mine. It has an E-brake and it’s overall more comfortable. I’ve climbed all over and under it and it’s very well made and smartly engineered.

Both are 6-seater machines. In my situation for my style of usage if I were buying a new one today I’d buy the CF Moto. I think it’s a better machine for less money.

Kawasaki MULE 4000 series are extremely durable & worry free. 4x4, plenty of work capabilities & Electronic Power Steering. Compared to the Honda it has a lower top speed but it also has a lower price tag.

If op wants to use it on trails occasionally when camping probably check to see if there's width restrictions for trails in area he might be riding it.
