Ok thanks guys on both counts. I'll get the orange tungsten and go from there. I really just want to play around with it and get my feet wet with TIG, and have the option for my home shop if I need it. Then I'll probably buy a nicer TIG machine for work once I get the hang of it. Not sure I follow the welder- TIG in the corner reference, but I am completely ignorant of the whole process so I will take the advice. I guess I should have known better than resurrect this old thread, but I kinda thought if anyone down the road tried to set up an old Dialarc for TIG it might help with a Google search. But I really appreciate the help folks, and I'll let this old thread go back to sleep hahahaa!
